The OT Eurovision Gala line-up is complete! Two days after the results of the online vote were announced, RTVE has published the full list of participants at the Operación Triunfo Eurovision Gala, which will happen later this month.

Today seven more acts have the winners of the public vote, María, Noelia and Natalia. The final seven were selected by a panel of music experts, some from the OT Academy.

The ten finalists — including OT 2018 winner Famous — will now go on to compete (more or less willingly) to represent Spain in Tel Aviv. The ten acts are:

  • Carlos Right with “Se te nota”
  • Famous with “No puedo más”
  • Julia with “Qué quieres que haga”
  • María with “Muérdeme”
  • Marilia with “Todo bien”
  • Miki with “La venda”
  • Natalia with “La clave”
  • Natalia & Miki with “Nadie se salva”
  • Noelia with “Hoy vuelvo a reír otra vez”
  • Sabela with “Hoy soñaré”

This unfortunately means some acts have missed out. Alba Reche, Damion, Joan Garrido and Marta have missed out. The exclusion of Alba Reche is seen as a controversial decision, as the OT runner-up was a popular contestant. Her potential Eurovision song”¿Qué será luego?” had placed sixth in the online vote.

It also means that Miki won’t be singing his other entry “El equilibrio”, Sabela won’t have “Dímelo de frente”, and Marilia won’t get to duet with Joan on “A tu lado”.

Shock! El Sueño de Morfeo wrote “Muérdeme”

Together with the full line-up, RTVE has released some information about the composers of the songs, and there are several familiar faces. But the ones that shocked everyone were David Feito and Juan Suárez. They are two thirds of El Sueño de Morfeo, and they are amongst the composers of “Muérdeme”, the Latin hit that María is singing.

They are not the only composers who have some experience at Eurovision. Behind Natalia’s “La clave”, we find Ander Pérez, who also wrote Spain’s 2003 entry “Dime”. The fact that “La clave” sounds contemporary to that song is something we could talk about later.

Together with Ander Pérez, there’s Merche, a fairly popular singer in Spain who was a big name last decade. She competed in Spain’s National Selection in 2001, where she came sixth. Rosa Martínez and Nuria Azzouzi are the other composers of this song, and they also participated in “Muérdeme”.

As for Noelia’s entry, Álex Ubago and Jacobo Calderón are behind it. Álex Ubago is a popular singer-songwriter, who is known for his moody, melancholic music.

Jacobo Calderón is a quite prolific songwriter who has colaborated with artists like Raphael, David Bisbal, Alejandro Sanz, and Eurovision stars Pastora Soler and Sergio Dalma. He’s the son of Juan Carlos Calderón, who wrote Paloma San Basilio’s Eurovision 1985 song ‘La fiesta terminó’. It placed 14th in the final.

The performers will start working closely with the composers for the entires from Monday, January 7. There’s still no date for the Eurovision Gala itself, but the full songs will be released 48 hours before the Gala airs.

María is my favorite!!!!
I strongly believed that they have got chance to reach even the TOP10 with this song, bot I’m afraid of her live vocal and perfomance…

Miki is my favorite. I like Muerdeme, but Maria doesn’t want to go to Eurovision, so what’s the point? :p

I’m really surprised Alba didn’t make it, but I don’t think she wanted to go to Eurovision anyways. I think she’ll be the Aitana of this year and go on to be the most successful, so it’s probably best for her career not to do Eurovision right now.

“La venda” and “Nadie se salva” are my personal favourites, but I fully expect “Muérdeme” to win, which I won’t be upset about either. I also really like “La clave”. The others are boring.

I think that spain should choose nadie se salva. I know its not the most original song in the world but natalia and miki have really good on stage charisma both with each other and the audience. With some good choreography this could be a really good dance number.

Neither Miki nor Natalia along with Maria and Alba want to go to Eurovision

It has to be “La venda” or “Muérdeme”. I’m looking forward to hear the 3 minutes of almost all the songs (not you Carlos). The quality isn’t the best, but we have the chance to send something different to what we are used to. My top 10 right now with just 1 minute and cheap demo production: 1. Miki – La venda 2. María – Muérdeme 3. Famous – No puedo más 4. Marilia – Todo bien 5. Sabela – Hoy soñaré 6. Noelia – Hoy vuelvo a reír otra vez 7. Natalia – La clave 8. Miki & Natalia… Read more »

So all my favourites (La clave, Muérdeme, Nadie se salva, La venda) are in – nice.

Who cares? They’ll probably send a boring song (in Spanish) that no one will like it and it won’t get many votes, as usual, and once again Spain will end up in bottom 5. Neverending story…

Can’t wait for the full 3 minute versions. Thus far, I’d say the most promising are Hoy Sonare and Hoy vuelvo a reír otra vez. I can also see the appeal of Muerdeme, La clave and La venda. They are quite catchy, but I can also potentially sense the repetitiveness of the hook. No puedo mas and Todo bein just don’t work for me.

Off topic but insiders say that RTBF will send Alice on the Roof to Eurovision for Belgium. Her last concert is planned March 30th and she has nothing planned from that day on. She also got famous by The Voice Belgique just like Roberto, Loïc and Blanche.

It’ll be a cool choice, she is known in France with EP Malade. I hope it’s true.

That would actually make so much sense because she was already on RTBF’s shortlist in 2016!

I’m disappointed vuelve didn’t make the cut but I’m really happy se to nota made it! I don’t really get the hype la venda is getting by the fans, I’m still rooting for Maria, Marilia, Natalia and Natalia & Miki’s Duet

Marta deserved a spot. Her sample is one of the few that gave me a good first impression. Surprised that Alba is out. Not just because she’s popular, but also because I think her sample was better than at least half of the options. Happy for Julia and Sabela! Anyway, I guess nothing really changes, “Muérdeme” is the frontrunner and will have to live to the expectations, while it’s still hard to say who will emerge as its biggest threat. I would pay attention to Natalia & Miki, since it’s the only duet and I think they blend well together.

I never thought I’d say this, but at this point y’all really have to send Miki with La Venda.

I like Muerdeme, but I just don’t see it doing well after Fuego. Plus the singer has already said that she’s not interested in Eurovision, so I don’t see the point of sending her to Tel Aviv. I think that the best option would be Miki, because it’s fun and it would definitely stand out in the whole competition. Good luck!

“Muérdeme” and “No puedo más”are not a surprise for me.
I think most of the songs are up tempo, which is good. We need to move Spain!
At this point, “Muérdeme” is the song with the most potential at Eurovision. Most of the songs I don’t really remember, but this one I do remember, though didn’t have any impression on me.

Sorry but ‘Vuelve conmigo’ was composed by José María Purón. Juan Carlos Calderón wrote other Spanish wonderful entries like Mocedades”Eres tú’, Sergio y Estibaliz’s’Tu volverás’, Paloma San Basilio’s’La fiesta terminó’ or Nina’s ‘Nacida para amar’.
Anyway ‘La venda’ or ‘Muérdeme’ for the win please

All of these songs could easily feature as “Chiquititas” original soundtrack. that’s not a compliment.

No surprise Alba’s song didn’t make it, it was not her best effort. If Maria doesn’t self-sabotage she will be the one going to Eurovision.
