She’s one of Spain‘s most popular pop singers, who’s recently released her own McDonald’s menu. And despite the fact that she competed in Operación Triunfo and Spain’s Eurovision selection in 2018, Aitana says she’s “not prepared yet” for the contest.
You may remember her as the voice behind the Spanish national final songs “Arde” and one half of “Lo malo“, which went on to become a hit in Spain and a fan favourite during the 2018 Eurovision season.
On Monday, Aitana gave an interview to Tony Aguilar on radio Los 40. Aguilar, who is one of Spain’s Eurovision commentators, asked her whether she would take the challenge.

Aitana told him, “I don’t think I’d be capable of doing it right now. You have to be very well prepared, and I don’t think I can handle it right now, but I won’t close that door. This doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to do it in the future”, she explained, while she thanked her fans for thinking of her as a possible Spanish entrant.
Moreover, she praised Spain’s representative in 2021, Blas Cantó, and also pointed out how successful Måneskin have proven to be.
McAitana, a viral sensation in Spain
During the last four years, Aitana has grown to be one of the country’s best selling artists – and she’s selling everything she can! She’s released perfumes, has featured on several fashion campaigns and just this month, released her own menu at McDonald’s.
That’s just a regular CBO chicken burger, but if you ask for it in Spain now, you’ll get a McAitana. Of course, Twitter worked its magic. You may have seen your Spanish mutuals go crazy for it.

Curiously, Aitana will not be able to order her own menu. After the promotion had been developed, Aitana was diagnosed with celiac disease, meaning she experiences an immune reaction to eating foods containing gluten. This makes the CBO with its wheat flour bun now off limits, but Aitana explained she won’t be changing the McAitana as the CBO was her McDonald’s favourite before her diagnosis.
Music-wise, since 2018 Aitana has dropped two albums: Spoiler and 11 Razones. She’s recently released new music: her last single “Berlín” was released just days ago.
This summer, Aitana’s collaboration with the Spanish artist ZZoilo, “Mon amour”, was one of the most played songs on Spanish radio.
Do you think Aitana would get Spain a good result at Eurovision? Will we ever see her in the Eurovision stage? Would she have done better than Amaia and Alfred in Lisbon? Tell us in the comment section below!
Please no. Aitana is too good for Eurovision at this point.
Just send Rosalia.
Do you seriously think Rosalia would even consider Eurovision?
No.
maybe if she loses popularity, but trying to revive a carrer that way has proven to be not effective.
i wasnt a massive fan of lo malo (it was good, but not WOW-ing) but i loved the collab song with katy perry
who cares …
Me so shut up.
yeah right lol edurne is gonna slay, barei everyone, amaia and alfred were so hyped. and yet YOU placed spain in the bottom 5 every year. “me so shut up”, yeah cuz yall vote every year for spain right? At least match your words with your actions lol. pathetic.
You need some time away from the computer
I would love to see her in Eurovision someday, both of her albuns are good. But she’s right, she has to do it when she feels ready for it. After all, she’s young and whoever represents Spain next year will be under pressure.
what’s up with all these singers doing mcdonald’s menus lmao salvador sobral is shaking
Unrelated but Claude Lombard who represented Belgium at ESC 1968 (the latest EurovisionAgain show!) passed away yesterday. She’s known among millennials in francophone countries cause she was singing a lot of opening themes for cartoons in the 90s. They posted a nice tribute to all her work in anime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ze-1H0plewM
She’s really, really good. Hope it’s gonna be her time soon
