It’s gonna be a busy Saturday with seven countries choosing their act for Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. One of them is Estonia. They will try to reach the final once again after Stefan gave them a 13th place finish in Turin last May.

In order to make the final line-up for Eesti Laul 2023, the participants needed to survive one of two semi finals. Both of them took place in January. Five advanced from each semi, along with an additional two wildcards, giving us the 12 finalists we’ll see tomorrow. Ahead of that, we asked you to name your favourites. After counting 3,067 votes, the results are in.

According to our poll fan favorite OLLIE should go to Eurovision 2023

If it were up to you, Estonia would go with OLLIE. His entry “Venom” reminds us of rock songs from the early 2000s and brings a lot of energy. He received 952 votes and thus is your favorite act in Eesti Laul 2023. That’s 31.04% of all votes!

Second place goes to the other big fan favorite Alika. She managed to earn 651 votes with her entry “Bridges” — that’s almost 300 fewer than OLLIE. Alika shot to fame when she was crowned the winner of the 2021 season of Estonial Idol. Now she wants to represent Estonia in Liverpool with a song she penned alongside Wouter Hardy, writer of Eurovision winning song “Arcade” by Duncan Laurence.

On to third place, and it’s SISSI, who is no stranger to Eurovision fans. She has tried to represent Estonia a few times and, of course, her father is Dave Benton, part of the only act who ever won Eurovision for Estonia back in 2001. Her entry “Lighthouse” got 267 votes.

Bedwetters, another fan favourite, came fourth with their entry “Monsters” with 205 votes. And close behind them we find JANEK. He earned 196 votes for his entry “House of Glass”.

Full poll results: Who should win Eesti Laul 2023 and represent Estonia at Eurovision?

Has it really been almost a month since Estonia held their semi finals? Time goes by very quickly. I can’t wait to see who they will choose tomorrow. My first choice would be Ollie followed by Alika, so I would be fine with either one of those two. I’ll still keep an open mind if somebody else wins besides those two artists.

Looks like Alika has it in the bag, but Ollie has been building momentum and I can also see Anett x Fredi pulling a surprise win.
Either way, I’d be happy with whomever of the three winning 🙂

It’s either the Meelik ensemble or Estonia once again goes on the ignore list for May.

Eesti Laul is one of my favourite national finals. There’s always a lot of good songs and this year is no exception. The reason why I think they should choose Ollie with Venom is that it’s just an excellent nostalgic rock song and it’s performed exceptionally well. The energy I got from watching his performance was insane!

Bridges is so bad. Estonia should send her if they want to flop, I don’t see tele-voters voting for it, especially if another good ballad comes into the mix, which it prob will

I’d love to see Ollie win, I think he’d get douze points from Finland for sure!! It’s a much better version of that nostalgic-rock than what Blind Channel did, and they were super successful at Eurovision!

But Finland and Estonia are not in the same semifinal together, so Estonia will have to qualify to get those points from Finland.

I’m the last one, I prefer Ollie’s entry but I recognize that Alika is such a class act and I’d like her to take part of ESC with a better entry soon 🙂

Alika is my favorite to go to Eurovision, but Estonia has so many good entries in its selection, I could image about five of them to win, without being disappointed.

i’ve never really understood the hype for alika. bridges isn’t bad but it is so conventional and sounds like the same kind of songs that estonia has sent for years and gotten average results with. i think ollie is a way better choice for estonia to do well and i’m glad his momentum has been building, hopefully it is enough to win

I don’t get the hype about Ollie either. It’s just an average pop/rock song in English, nothing new there.

Estonia are in a very good position, their two front runners I could easily see qualifying and probably expect to qualify. Theyre both staged well, sang well and are great in their respective genres so if it was between them, (Ollie is my favourite personally) they’d do well.

Whilst theres songs in the final that I dont necessarily expect to win like Andreas or M Els, they are also quality entries that ive been listening to since they were released.

Although Ollie is my favourite, I think Alika might take it, but tbh, its still quality.

Ollie should definitely win this, even tho I also wouldn’t mind Alika or even Andreas/M els winning…

Ollie should win in my book even though I know Alika perhaps has it in the bag. On the other hand though, Estonia usually is kind enough to vote for my winner so I will keep my faith in them til the last second 🙂

Yeah, kinda. But I gotta admit that I am not passionate about Eesti Laul this year. I usually like it more. I suppose “Lighthouse” is closest to my taste, but its charm doesn’t last long.

Estonia has done a great job this year. I’ve got three songs in this final which I really, really like. I don’t think any of them will win, but Estonia has done a very good job this year.

Tuju know what I mean?

I’m half expecting a surprise win by Anett x Fredi. I’m a bit surprised why people don’t seem to have them on their radar. They already were in the superfinal once when they debuted in 2020, and Estonia loves it’s loungey, jazzy pop tunes – last year Minimal Wind came second, the year before that Kadri Voorand came 6th out of nowhere. It’s bound to happen some time.

Yeah, Anett x Fredi are really good live. I have wondered when they will win Eesti Laul, since surely it’s only a matter of time. It could be this year.

Come on Estonia, please choose Ollie. So far many of my favourites of the different national selections have not made it to the Eurovision stage, but you can set that right tomorrow. One of the best songs this Eurovision season.

I love all these songs, and I love everyone in this final. It might be my personal favourite Eesti Laul final so far.
I am obviously on “Team Alika” this year; big dramatic piano song oh yes… but let’s face it, Estonia will send the most attractive young man who sings a mainstream-sounding song. That’s Ollie. So, I expect Ollie will win.
But if Estonia surprises me with a different choice, I would be equally happy.

Ollie looks like that fan favorite that I just don’t get at all.

I’m still holding out hope for Meelik. Alika’s a solid pick, too, if I have to choose a “favorite.”

Some of these songs are old friends by now!

I would be okay with Alika, Ollie or Sissi. I’m rarely ever okay with more than one song winning let alone 3 so I think estonia had a good selection here.
