We love a meaty press release. And the producers behind Latvia’s Supernova 2025 have dropped a juicy one. It reveals the 20 semi-finalists for their national selection, which will consist of a semi-final on February 1, and a final a week later on February 8.
Among the acts are two Eurovision veterans. Citi Zēni (“Eat Your Salad”), who placed 14th in their semi-final at Eurovision 2022, and Justs (“Heartbeat”), who placed 15th in the grand final of Eurovision 2016.
Another familiar name on the list is Markus Riva. The Latvian singer, TV personality, and Only Fans star has competed in nine editions of Latvia’s national selection, coming second in 2015 (“Take Me Down”) and 2019 (“You Make Me So Crazy”). This will be his 10th appearance.
You’ll be able to hear all of their songs on December 4. You can also watch all of them in our thread on Blue Sky and X.

Katrina looks promising.
While I think it’s unfair to judge until we hear the songs, I’m a bit upset to see so many titles in English, especially, with words like “love” and “romance” in them. That sounds a bit Melodifestivalen to me and I want to hear something fresher. That being said, there are songs that seem to be in Latvian, so that’s good.
Out of the 5 songs released so far, I like Sinergija’s Bound By The Light by far the most.
Citi Z?ni’s song is such an obvious ripoff of Rim Tim Tagi Dim… not even trying to be original, bleh. “L?go” sounds the most promising out of all snippets.
at least Citi Zeni’s is in the native language, while Rim Tim Tagi Dim is just some fake-ethno clickbait song title
But Rim Tim was heavily inspired by Kaariija and especially Rammstein.. we will see more songs like that next year.
Sinergija bound by the light ain’t ethno at all, more like serving me game of thrones soundtrack vibes, and more in a parody sort of way lol
I don’t think we should judge until the full songs release on December 4, but I have to say the snippets sound very promising. Hopefully There is something that is good enough for Latvia to qualify in 2025
the snippets are a way too short but from that first impression i like the warm vibes from the song “the water” most and maybe something similar to the masterful vestules is coming here?
Death, taxes, and Markus Riva participating in Supernova.
Speaking of taxes, esc_fl…how do you feel about the US election results?
Tasty snippets.
This lineup already looks better than previous years but I must say Marta’s song caught my attention the most due to it having similar vibes to Taylor Swft, and honestly I’m living for it:)
Cool, from the snippets, The Ludvig, Tepat, Luka, Emilja got my attention.
For Marcus I need to hear the drop and Citi Z?ni I see you Kaarija and Joost inspired you ;), not my thing but I respect.
I feel Latvia has several good options for next year.
Looks promising
