Flashback to 2013 and everyone was envious of Emmelie de Forest’s flowing blonde locks. Girl had serious hairography potential!

Where Loreen’s ‘Euphoria’ was dark and moody (in hair as much as anything else), Emmelie was a ray of light and her hair shone on stage (no shade on Loreen, but it’s true, Emmelie legit had raining sparks on stage).

Now however she’s taken the brave decision to lose the extensions and bleach for a much more muted ombre colour.

And thank goodness she decided it was time for a makeover! The contrast from the dark to the light is amazing and beyond on trend.

News flash for the haircare challenged among y’all: extensions and bleach is a baaaaaaad combo for healthy hair.

Having her hair heat-styled throughout her National Selection season tour this spring can’t have been fun for Emmelie’s hair either but her new low maintenance do adds to the new edgy image showed off in her video for ‘Drunk Tonight‘.

We’re no experts but when artists change up their look it can also reflect a change in all things: artistry, fashion and above all their music. And if the album is anything like the look – edgy, current and gorgeous – Team Wiwi cannot wait for Emmelie 2.0 to drop in earnest next spring!

Shedding that the Eurovision Only Teardrops image for a career in pop music. Pretty smart move I guess. I wish her the best.

I’ll say it again: she’s looking mature in here. You have truly grown up, Emmelie… Thumbs up!
