When Conchita Wurst said “We’re unstoppable”, the “we’re” obviously included Ruth Lorenzo. As we announced a few days ago, Conchita and Ruth, who promised us a duet back in May, collaborated during Saturday’s Shangay Pride concert—one of the biggest parties of the Madrid Gay Pride celebrations in Spain. Here is their powerful rendition of “Purple Rain”.

The pair met the day before as they opened the Madrid MADO 2014 Gay Pride at Chueca Plaza. As they took to the stage to address the huge crowd that had gathered, Conchita showed off her slender frame in a cream coloured ruffled dress which fell just above the knee. That waist is tiny! But she still brought her big voice as she belted out her winning Eurovision song “Rise Like a Phoenix”.

At the Shangay event, both Ruth and Conchita reprised their Eurovision hits, much to the delight of all the Eurofans present, who gave them both a standing ovation at the end of their set. Conchita also met 2009 Spanish Contestant Soraya Arnelas – as a picture on Soraya’s Twitter Page reveals.

Conchita’s appearance in Spain follows her performance at London’s Gay Pride last week in Trafalgar Square.

Dancing in the Purple Rain is no better than Dancing in the Rain. Poor Conchita, I guess she did it to try & help out Ruth. Sadly Ruth is still a bore.

Great to see two artists from this years contest together. I totally love Ruths passion and vocals and its great that she was voted best vocal performance on here. Ruth totally stuns me with her vocal control. Conchita is really doing the rounds across Europe – that’s brilliant. I hope they continue to perform, have fun and get support – albeit from other sources than people who comment on this blog.

Could Ruth screech any louder? Her voice may be big but all she does is use it to overpower Conchita, and sounds horrible while she’s doing it. Is that what ‘friends’ do to each other nowadays? Terrible performance from her. As for Conchita, could barely hear her over Ruth’s screeching.
