It may be the off season, but the team at wiwibloggs is still cozying up to Eurovision stars past and present. Earlier this month Swiss representative Michael von der Heide met up with wiwiblogger Deban Aderemi in Zürich. In the interview below, Michael talks about his views of the jury-televote voting system, having his work observed by Nick Cage, being raincheck-ed by Kylie Minogue, and what the golden showers in his Eurovision 2010 entry were all about. He also dishes about breaking into the French-language music industry when his native language was German. Despite Switzerland’s rather dreary recent history at Eurovision, he advises fans to be patient, as complaining ain’t cute.

Watch the full interview here:

Michael von der Heide represented his homeland in Oslo with “Il pleut de l’or” (It’s Raining Gold). The song placed last in the second semi-final, with only 2 points from Georgia.

It was a wonderful retro-styled song. Live version was a bit dodgy but still deserved the final

As far as I know golden showers can be done with lots of love … although “love” and “golden showers” in the same sentence may sound awkward and non-believable. We should ask Ricky Martin about that … he was once an expert on that matter.

As a Swiss I gotta say this was probably one of the worst songs we’ve ever sent.
