Sharknado 3 premiered this week, and cast members and theme song writers Jedward hit the UK promo circuit. But as well as pimping their new film, the twins answered the big question – would they ever do Eurovision again?

The Grimes brothers may have written “Oh Hell No”, the theme song to Sharknado 3, but they’ve been busy writing even more tunes. Talking to BT TV, John said they’d already written songs that would do well in Eurovision and that it was important to have a song with a unique sound.

And in an interview with OK magazine, John promised that they would bring a spectacular song to the competition that would have audiences saying “Wow, my ears are having an eargasm right now listening to this.” Well, that’s what we like to hear!

Edward had been putting a bit of thought into the possible staging. Inspired by their new connection with Sharknado and the Syfy network, he promised lasers and holograms, and “an aquarium of water on stage. I’m talking about water, glass – us swimming through the sharks.”

The Grimes brothers also talked about how competing in Eurovision had opened them up to new audiences of all ages, and how their 2011 entry “Lipstick” had gone on to be a big seller. John explained,  “Even though we didn’t win Eurovision, our song was still the biggest massive selling song. It’s still up there as one of the highest selling Eurovision songs.” Edward added, “We’re probably the biggest break-out act of Eurovision of the last 10 years.”

Given how sedate some of the songs and staging were this year, we can’t help thinking that Eurovision could really do with a shark tank and some of that Jepic pop magic.

Should Jedward return to Eurovision? Is this what Ireland needs to reverse its flagging fortunes? Is Eurovision ready for sharks? Share your thoughts below!

the problem is that they looked ridiculous in Eurovision with those outfits. They could’ve done better if they wore proper outfits… Waterline wasn’t as good as Lipstick but it did well in televoting (10th). On the contrary, Lipstick did better in jury voting LOL.

It’s true that Lipstick sold well and Eurovision gave Jedward a second life in their career

Lipstick was a marmite song for me. Much better than Waterline definately but there are so many better groups in Ireland that could be chosen.

So maybe Jedward shouldnt come back.

That and they are tad annoying.

We have had to suffer through two entries from Jedward. Another would just be the worst kind of torture.

It really annoys me how much greedy Jedward are..! They took part in EuroVision not only one time but 2 times and both of these times they did really good with qualifying to the final {and that is big deal 4 a country like Ireland} but finished in the top10 as 8th in the first time.. Their 19th place on their 2nd attempt was really fine result given the fact that their song *WaterLine* was not good enough.. So they should stick with their 2 participations… How many acts were lucky/privileged enough to take part in EuroVision twice as Jedward… Read more »

Its ridiculous…
Ireland has so many talented enough singers/groups to represent the country in our Vision but Jedward will be chosen instead to represent them 4 a THIRD time even??!
That will be really unfortunate if it happens..
We have got over of Jedward..

*LipStick* was indeed from the most popular songs of that Vision of 2011 that did really well on the charts but mainly i don’t see this song as rather popular as Jedward want to believe wrongly.. It stood out just only on that year.. How on earth with all the big hype their song managed to chart only on low #40 in UK charts?? So this indicates that the song was not that popular outside Ireland & maybe few other countries.. *Running Scared* had bigger impact than this…And the factor of the charts doesn’t matter at all 4 me.. Italy’s… Read more »

Jedward could put a shark in the screen behind them. Also they could appear in Sharknado 4!

I was kinda disappointed by their Sharknado participation. They have a four second cameo in which only one of them has a (very short) line and you can’t even hear the song throughout the movie. They don’t even interact with the sharks 🙁

Is Katy Perry’s left shark still looking for a job? Jedward could always use that.

In related news, Sharknado 3 was very camp and over the top. For all the Jedward haters, sorry to burst your bubbles but they survived during their brief cameo in the movie.

Oh please don’t..
They are so annoying..

And that is non that true as their *Lipstick* sold enough only in their country Ireland..
All their albums have sold many copies in Ireland but this means nothing..
They are not really popular outside Ireland..
*Lipstick* charted ONLY in#40 on UK charts…So enough with their cr@p..

They haven’t many fans outside Ireland..
But even if they return to our Vision & compete 4 a third time then whatever…I don’t care..
At least i hope that they won’t win & that will be satisfaction 4 me alone..
