We are now only hours away from Sweden deciding its champion of Melodifestivalen 2017 and thus the artist and song they will be sending to the Ukraine to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest.
All the acts are in a frenzy to get everything just right. Whether that’s tweaking choreography, adjusting the lighting…or, in some cases, swapping a frock for a sleek new pants-dress.
Wiktoria leads the pack going into tonight’s hotly contested final with her song “As I Lay Me Down”. In order to get a leg up on the others, she’s swapped dresses on us y’all! So, of course, we want to know which one you like better!
Our wiwibloggers are on the ground in Stockholm this week and were able to catch this shot of Wiktoria in her new outfit at Thursday’s rehearsal.
During the fourth semi final, Wiktoria was saved by the voters and sent direkt til final. Fans went crazy about the upbeat radio-friendly song and her spot-on vocals. But a notable amount of vocal fans were not so crazy about Wiktoria’s dress. The breezy, toga-inspired frock didn’t seem to match the country vibe of the song, or Wiktoria’s vivacious presence on stage.
In a surprise change up at Thursday’s run through, Wiktoria came to the stage in a saucy red pants-dress. It fits her perfectly and comes across both sophisticated and sexy on stage. Her team also decided — at least for this rehearsal — to tie her signature platinum curls up into a bun, giving her a classy, more mature presence. From the color to the fit, Wiktoria is now dressed to slay hearts at Saturday’s final in Stockholm.
Swedish broadcaster SVT has also reported that subtle changes have been made to Wiktoria’s staging and special effects screens. At one point during the song she will lay down, with the shadow of her love as a world of flowers spins around her.

I think I prefer the first one, but for that performance, since she has to move a lot, maybe the second is more appropriate

Do we REALLY need a poll for this? She is overrated, I hope for Mariette or Nano, but Loreen would have won ESC 2017, but NOOOOOOOO.

@Colin: 1. Melodifestivalen is HUGE and epic compared to other National competitions.
2. It’s possible that certain Wiwibloggers get paid to post about MF – that possibly would be their only income if they did. William is the best person to ask about that though.
Sufficed to say there are plenty of good reasons why MF gets more coverage, but I agree that the Malta video reveal could have gotten a post. Perhaps you should write the post and submit it by e-mail? 🙂

I love Wiktoria and I will be rooting for her tonight, but, seriously, a dress poll? Claudia hasn’t got her video release coverage yet. The hype over Sweden is off chart, even if Melfest seriously is the best produced NF.

Neither, she looks tragic in both. Go away, where’s Loreen? FO&O? I love how Wiwibloggs pay so much attention to the “favourites”, and when the “un-favourite” wins, they’re all over them! Ariadne is such a good example of how they slated it and she came 2nd in the televote in her semi, and 4th in the final in the televote!
