The finishing line is almost upon us as we entered the home stretch of Lithuania’s national selection marathon “Eurovizijos” dainu konkurso nacionaline atranka, or simply Eurovizijos atranka 2018.
A total of 50 participants made it to the competition before Erica Jennings pulled out and was replaced. After four heats, two quarter-final shows and two semi-finals, just six finalists remain. Ieva Zasimauskaite, Jurgis Bruzga, Kotryna Juodzeviciute, Monika Marija, Paula and The Roop will sing it out in the grand final on March 11 to become Lithuania’s Eurovision 2018 representative.
But who should win the final? You can listen to all of the songs below and have your say by voting in our poll. You can vote for as many songs as you like, but you can only vote once, so choose wisely! We’ll close the poll on March 10, just ahead of the grand final.
Ieva Zasimauskaite – “When We’re Old”
Jurgis Bruzga – “4Love”
Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “That Girl”
Monika Marija – “The Truth”
Paula – “1 2 3”
The Roop – “Yes, I Do”
Who should win the final of Lithuania’s Eurovizijos atranka 2018?
[polldaddy poll=9951400]Who are you rooting for in Lithuania? Let us know your thoughts in our comments box below!
From these finalists, Ieva is my favorite, Paula good second option. However, my real favorities are already out from the final: Rugile Daujotaite, GeraoGerai ir Silvija Pankunaite, Natalja Chareckaja. Godo would have been great too to be in the final. 🙂
Will you make a video- ” who should win Lithuania’s Eurovizijos atranka 2018″???
Lithuanians who want to send Ieva think that it’s possible to win Eurovision by playing with people’s feelings. Just because Portugal won Eurovision with a ballad doesn’t mean you will! A SONG SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS YEAR’S WINNER DOESN’T DO WELL IN THE EUROVISION. If you people think Ieva would do well in the Eurovision then you’re freaking delusional.
“A SONG SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS YEAR’S WINNER DOESN’T DO WELL IN THE EUROVISION”
Please, explain 1944 and Amar pelos dois, then? Two emotional songs in a row! Sure, they are not THAT similar, but neither are APD and When We’re Old.
The song itself is a victory over the running time, such message a song sends. Is it so important to win Eurovision?
What exactly is the message of Ieva’s song? Tell me.
The thing is Lithuania is not like Portugal or Ukraine. They can’t send ballads. Remember when they sent Sasha Son in 2009 with a ballad? that song was even better than Ieva’s and even he didn’t make it to the final…
he did make the final
Sasha Son’s song was uninteresting, boring. You are a Lithuanian, because only Lithuanians do not understand music?
Sasha’s song was not boring, Ieva’s song is. You can’t even imagine how much I know about music. If Ieva goes to the Eurovision remember these words: Lithuania won’t qualify.
How can you people prefer Ieva over Kotryna?
Ieva is so amateur compared to Kotryna. I mean she’s a professional vocalist. She performs really well live. She hits space high notes. The song is catchy. I mean what more do you need? Kotryna is freaking amazing!
Ieva is the best. Kotryna is a copy of americans.
No. Ieva is an average singer with a typical song.
Everything about The Roop is great, more hen likely the only song that would stand a chance of getting Lithuania into the finals.
I liked Paula and the Roop, Ieva is ok, the others I don’t like so much. In any case, good luck Lithuania!
Does anyone know which version Paula will be singing in the final?
It’s weird because in the video of her last performance she says things like “this is what I wanted the song to be like in the first place”, so it would be a good assumption that she’s gonna continue with the slower version. But all of her videos on YouTube and other places only have the original, uptempo version, so I really hope she’s gonna go back to that one! 🙂
There are some polls on major Lithuanian websites, where Paula asks which version of the song do Lithuanians prefer. So I think she will look to results, which version is more appealing to the wider audience and then she will sing that one. In fact, that new version didn’t get much televotes (Paula was only 5th in televoting last Saturday), so there is more possiblity that she will return to that previous version.
I like That Girl by Kotryna, but it needs to lose the guys. Hope it wins!
Since “Saul?s kliošas” is out, I no longer care who will win. From those who have stayed, I can only listen to Ieva. Jurgis is too much Sweden2017, Paula is so much overrated and all other are just meh
Jurgis and The Roop are my absolute favorites
omg, same! high-five!
Ieva <3
I had 4 favorites- saules kliosas, Paula, gabrielius vagelis and Kotryna Juodzeviciute. now only 2 of them are in the final so I’m hoping for either kotryna or Paula
As usual, Lithuania will choose the worst song.
Lithuania is one of those countries where following the national selection gets too much. It’s overall just too much agony and too little entertainment and/or good song material. However, I am of course hoping for a decent entry from them. My favorite song they ever sent is “Love Or Leave” by 4Fun. Unfortunately, their performance was anything but fun.
Is anyone from Wiwibloggs coming to Lithuania’s National final in Kaunas Zalgirio Arena?
i hope so and they should make a video saying their top 3 on their channel
Wow, I think Lithuanian national selection is the strongest out of all others this year. Many good songs didn’t qualified though.:/
Paula has the best song but not the acoustic version. This is meant to be a Swedepop Zara Larsson-esque song and the new version doesn’t fit it at all. Monika Marija and Kotryna are both okay, while I don’t like the others at all. Ieva will easily win though with her boring song which I don’t see qualifying to the final in May.
Paula new performance from semi-final 2 has already been uploaded to youtube. So I think you have to change video here, because performance is very different.

Other subject rn, it seems like SENNEK’s song is called “a matter of time”.
Still expecting good things from Belgium.
Any news on when we will be able to hear the song of Jessica Mauboy and Julia Samoylova?!
The Roop definitely, but he should cut the swish theatricality. It’s good that he is confident, but this swishing up and down the stage is embarassing. Very modern sound though.
Ieva is a good second. It’s good at the beginning when it’s very intimate but please no tear-jerker images of old couples on the background!
What the Hell happened to 1 2 3????
That was an easy winner of the NF in my eyes and now it’s a completely different song and I don’t think it needed to happen, especially when most of Paula’s catalogue is more danceable pop and now her song just seems to be about the guitar and showing off her voice. It kinda took all the charm out of the song and Paula’s performance suffers as well
a real shame
The juries kept trying to bury her so she changed it to an acoustic song to appease them.
Why do people like Ieva’s song? I don’t get it. Paula only. But still, Lithuania won’t do too well this year either.
I hope it’ll be Monika Marija, but I think it’ll be Ieva. I’ll be definitely surprised if it’ll be someone else.
It’s going to be Ieva, I suppose it’s the best Lithuania can do this year. Jurgis is a bit creep, he makes me cringe and his voice is weak. My top:
1. Ieva Zasimauskaite – “When We’re Old”
2. The Roop – “Yes, I Do”
—-
3. Paula – “1 2 3”
—-
4. Monika Marija – “The Truth”
5. Kotryna Juodzeviciute – “That Girl”
6. Jurgis Bruzga – “4Love”
It’s curious I had to make this top from worst to average. Bad sign Lithuania.
Why is Jurgis a creep? He’s been singing for many years and his voice is DEFINITELY not weak.
His look, to me, is a bit creep. Matter of taste. And his voice in this performance isn’t enough for a Eurovision performance. To me, I repeat.
Does anyone like “The Roop”? Cause it’s a pretty clear audience favorite in Lithuania.
Because it’s not interesting.
True thanks, you do know how to talk about other fellow nations :))
OF COURSE WE DO LIKE IT. And we’re gonna vote for it.
I love the Lithuanian selection every year because it’s always such a massive train wreck. My top 2 are Monika and Paula (but if Paula’s song has changed like people are saying then I won’t be much of a fan.) Send in Monika with that…. carpet triangle she first wore and I will love it. None of them have any hope of reaching the final though, even with carpet triangles.
You like it, but most do not like it 🙂
Also, everyone voting Paula.. did you not watch last night’s show.. the revamp was really bad
Ikr. That performance was so messy that it was hard to watch… I really want Kotryna to win the national selection… but based on the poll results it doesn’t look like she’s going to win.
Ieva is a runaway winner easily.. please Lithuania don’t mess this up. I’m surprised she isn’t storming the poll here tbh, she’s the only option to bring Lithuania back to the final.
Paula, unless her official song is the acoustic version? Her performance last night was random and I didn’t like it. The original version is way better
Monika Marija and Paula Valentaite are the only good ones, but it seems like they’re sending that voiceless zombie and staying in the semi.
They are uninteresting.
Paul’s vocal is bad.
Polegend, have you heard Paula’s song newest version from yesterday (the link in this article is not the right one; it goes to the old one performed before 2 weeks) ? After reading your comment, I assume that you haven’t :))
Well now I have and…Marija it is for me. I just don’t like anything about Ieva’s act, sorry!
Take some positivity pills, Polegend. When you’re energized about an entry, I’m all onboard, but when you bring negative energy in you suck all the fun out of things. You have a right to a negative opinion, but it often feels like you make people feel bad about liking a song (it’s happened to me a few times, and it’s hurt my feelings).
Ieva by a longshot. Her song is so emotional.
Ieva.
At this point, no1curr. I’m starting to believe we’re going to Netherlands next year. The overall level of this year is so poor and amateur that even a standard country rock can definitely stand out. A few countries left like Belgium, Croatia or Bulgaria may have a card up in their sleeves…
Paula is their only real option.
ESC SAN MARINO HAS ANNONCED ON TWITTER THAT VALENTINA MONETTA WILL REPLACE JESSIKA IN ”WHO WE ARE”!
IF THIS IS TRUE SOMEONE SHOULD GET THEM OUT OF COMPETITION IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS A JOKE.
What?
They are trolling 😀
Proof!
https://twitter.com/ESC_San_Marino/status/970092001642319877?s=20
How can we be sure is real? I like Valentina, but please, bring IROL too.
They are just seeking attention after the negative reception of yesterday. I’m done with San Marino. Bring Liechtenstein already!
Jessika dodged a bullet here.
This person is just pulling your leg. Check the Wikipedia – it’s still Jessika and Jenifer.
We need confirmation.
Wiki vs. Twitter…everybody will trust Twitter first.
WTH we must know what is happening in San Marino.
I don’t even care, none of them will qualify…
They do this marathon national final only to end up not getting to the final. I dont really care what they choose, they never send anything descent (rain of revolution was so funny)
Are you for real? Monika and Vaidas in 2015 had one of the best performances, and Donny Montell made it to the top 10 in 2016. Lithuania definety had some amazing performances in Eurovision. And Ieva will definetly go to top 15 in Lisbon.
By decent you mean a typical scandi-euro song? 🙂
Anyone but Jurgis. His entry is so generic and unoriginal.
Kotryna has the most potential for a decent result.
And the ballads in eurovision are VEEEERY original, right?
They can be. I would much rather have a sensitive ballad with thought put into it, even if it’s cliché and cheesy, than Jurgis’ plastic thing that isn’t even enjoyable.
Plastic? I didn’t know that funky-pop-electronic sounds were called plastic these days. anyway, call it whar you wnat, it’s still much better than trashy scandi-pop.
Finally someone with the same opinion as me. Kotryna is by far the best choice for Lithuania.
Waylon from the Netherlands is far out the best
Nah, Hungary for the win: ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN, MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!
:-DDD
Jeez what a car crash! 8 weeks to get to this!
Shame Greta Zazza’s not involved still
I want Jurgis to win at this point but seriously, Lithuania have eliminated any song that was remotely interesting already in this unneeded marathon of a national final. They will do well to avoid coming last in their semi-final.
Gosh, they are all so bad.
I voted for “The Truth”, because it’s the only decent song in this lineup, but that doesn’t mean I like it.
In any case, I think it’s safe to assume that Lithuania will crash in the semis this year.
When we’re old makes my ears hurt… oh my my. How could you like such a vocally disaster. My ears almost explode when she starts singing oooOOOooooOOld. There is nothing special or appealing about the song. she should be eliminated for giving us all headaches.
