She sings “thanks, no thanks”, but after watching her official music video we’re saying “please, yes please”! Slovenia’s Lea Sirk dropped the long-awaited visuals for her Eurovision 2018 entry “Hvala, ne!” yesterday evening.
Sharing the clip on social media, the pink-haired rapping singer simply writes:
“Here it is!!”. The message is interspersed with a selection of relevant emojis before she continues, “Proud and thank you for your sharing, likes and support!!”.
Set in a packed nightclub, the short film tells the story of a beautiful woman and her attempts to catch the eye of a hunky barman. But he’s not interested… that is until the protagonist decides to pull out a giant papier-mâché head, similar to the one used in Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” video.
And suddenly the guy can’t get enough of her. However, as soon as she removes the head, he’s gone again. This time though, she doesn’t care and continues partying.
All the while, Lea and her posse are busy dancing in a style reminiscent of her EMA winning performance. In the end, Lea does like the leading lady and removes her accessories, although in her case it’s fake eyelashes and hair extensions rather than a massive head.
Lea Sirk “Hvala, ne!” (Official Music Video)
At first glance, the music video may seem slightly random. But it actually ties in nicely with the lyrics of “Hvala, ne!”. During Israel Calling in Tel Aviv, Lea explained the song’s message to our Deban.
“The lyrics — I don’t like all that fake world… I would say ‘Hvala, ne!’ is all the masks. Put all the makeup off and not on! Be yourself. Do whatever you want. Say whatever you want. Say it loud”.
Suddenly, the giant head makes a lot more sense, no?

What do you think of the music video? Can Slovenia make it back to the grand final? Let us know in the comments below.
This song is acctually very good
I honestly do not like this…….
This song is really underrated. For me, it deserves the final much more than Norway.
I love her song so much, best of luck! Really hope she qualifies
Cool video, but not enough of Lea’s dancing. Hopefully a qualifier – love the song.
The concept for the video is nothing new as Mike Posner did it before. I actually think Lea Sirk comes off as a nice girl in it. Totally not fake. I wish her all the luck!
I would love it to be on the final, but it is too outh there for most people i´m afraid.
Oh yeah, hvala da! Love dancing to this one, go Lea!
She is wonderful, wonderfully normal. Watch this interview. “put all your masks off”

I don’t know how good this translation is but here the lyrics in English: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/hvala-ne-no-thanks.html#ixzz5DmdozFBO My name is Lea and I got a new shape for you Shape of smile and freedom like the most virtual trick. It is a step to victory it is a step to the lights it is a step to perfection. PERFECTION. I am fighting with a smile to the Sun I am fighting for the people The way to the truth blinds me The first love comes to make me blurred I take what a body makes free. Don’t believe in everything what is… Read more »
Wooooow! The lyrics are WAY much more intelligent that Israel’s. Lea is cool!
Video looks pretty familiar to “I took a pill in Ibiza” from Mike Posner. But it’s still cool, I like the message also
I only can’t stand that dubstep part in the chorus.
Mike is much more melodic, I do not see much similarity…I can not compare Lea to that mask….she is a good dancer and very good vocalist…
RIP avicci
I guess it works for the song!
she took the idea of the big fake head from i took a pill in ibiza lol
Surprisingly, I really like this! Fantastic.
Me too
I am going to vote for her!!!
Yess! All support for Lea!! Simply savage <3<3
