Results

Last night’s grand final took place over two rounds. During the final reprise of all 30 acts, the public had the chance to vote once again for their favorites. This set of public votes was then merged with the accumulated scores from the entire week, giving birth to a fresh ranking that unveiled the top five songs of the year, moving onto the super-final.

The voting counter was then reset to zero, ushering in a renewed opportunity for the audience to cast their votes. In the super-final, the winner was determined through a dynamic triad of decision-making. A public vote held a sway of 34%, complemented by the discerning judgment of a jury comprising radio broadcasters (33%) and another jury consisting of members of the press (33%). It was a thrilling blend of public opinion and expert evaluation that culminated in the crowning of the Festival’s triumphant artist.

Sanremo 2024 – Angelina Mango canta “La noia”

Eurovision 2024

But the excitement doesn’t end there! The winner of Sanremo 2024 earns the honour of representing Italy in Eurovision 2024. Should the winner choose not to participate, the Sanremo organisational committee will carefully select an artist from those who have expressed interest in Eurovision, ensuring Italy sends an exceptional representative to Malmö.

Therefore, the next anticipation lies in whether Angelina Mango will accept the opportunity to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö and, if so, which of her songs she will choose for the competition.

What do you make of the final night? Has Italy made a good choice for Eurovision? Let us know in the comments below.

Hmm, there’s something “aggressive” about this song and I don’t like it, it’s as if I were not invited by the singer to enjoy it. It’s not bad but kind of indifferent. I’m afraid it’s bottom 5 this year for Italy.

So the detailed rankings (not the full percentages of the juries) are out and the differences in Televoting between Geolier and the rest are rudicously huge. The juries were consistently putting him low in their rankings but he got over 40% during all 3 nights with televoting. His fans were voting for him and nothing seemed to stop them.

Angelina, Annalisa and Mahmood were my top 3 so I’m glad she won. It was about time a woman represented Italy again and she’s the perfect choice, though I really loved Sinceramente and Tuta Gold too

I just don’t hear it. It’s not even in the same league as maneskin was. For me it’s a song and she doesn’t have stage presence. The video is good but the live version average and basic. Sorry

Very good performance of Maymood. He is such a professional artist in a good way.
He takes me on his journey. Those these 3 mins flew by.

And on repeat. Well Done.
He doesnt need ESC anymore.

But the crown would suit him tho.

Probably it was too much for Mahmood to win a third time, even though he deserved it, on my opinion. Additionally, everybody was asking Italy to give the chance to a lady. It was time. Mahmood deserved a better place in Turin 2022. The song was good. Unfortunately they paid the bad performance of the final.

Writing that -there is too much news about Sanremo on Wiwibloggs -does that not happen with other festivals like Melodifestivalen which also has many days of development, does it mean negative comments?? In my country it is expressing one’s own opinion and there is nothing negative in that. I am referring to this type of comments when someone does not think the same as an Italian :/

Personally, I cannot connect with the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Most entries that were selected and released to this day are either prank entries or mythical, next to hysterical. I’m sensing the 2000-2010 era all over again, and I’m not waiting for it at all. I hope this edition will shift to be at least tolerable with more countries releasing their entries in the coming weeks. So far, here’s my list of the top: TOP-10 NORWAY (Ulveham) LATVIA (Hollow) FRANCE (Mon amour) TOP-26 SLOVENIA (Veronika) MALTA (Loop) ITALY (La noia) UKRAINE (Teresa & Maria) TOP-37 LUXEMBOURG (Fighter) FINLAND (No Rules)… Read more »

Mythical? LOL

Devito

Children shall not use the Internet for stuff they have no clue about. Oxford Languages defines “mythical” as either occurring in or characteristic of myths or folk tales, or fictitious. Witches and other myth-inspired songs this season bombed with the amount of cringe, sorrry, “alternative” approach that you would usually need to see in 20 years on a normal basis for the ESC.

It is the result of the good result if the Finnish entry last year. I hope that it won’t become a prank festival where more and more weird and extreme entries are competing against each other with “daring” dance breaks.

Devito

Reply to  Hélène

Oh, the dance breaks! Correct, more cringiness to the show. Myths, grotesque, dance breaks, screaming “SLAY”, “QUEEN”, and “YAS”, prank entries, explicit nudity regarding men (hypothetically, to attract gaymen), still censoring female tits, voting neighbors and voting blocks, the same song structure with the same rhyme, a 4-hour-long show, politically opinionated victories and entries… To think, Eurovision is becoming a legend of its own. Just not the good one for the past 10 years.

La Noia is modern catchy and sticks to your head regardless of whether you speak Italian or not. Angelina is adorable and charismatic. I hope they build a strong staging for her with some dancers. This can be a radio hit. I don’t know if juries will support it as much as they did previous Italian entries but it can’t be outside the Top 10 based on the quality of entries we have heard so far. The Nordic juries don’t give each other points like that. Look at the statistics and you will see. It is the public that does it. The year Måneskin won Italy got ten points from the Swedish jury while the Swedish public gave 3. The danish jury gave Sweden two points where the public televote gave Sweden 10 in Denmark the same year. This is one of the reasons the juries are needed. The most biased is the public.

It’s ok and Angelina is a good preforme but I’m afraid it won’t stand out enough to be in the battle of the victory. But good luck!

OMG record-breaking numbers. You won’t see these numbers in any other country (Germany, France, UK, Spain) and their local TV shows.

So what. Axl from Guns ‘N’ Roses used to put an awful lot of words in his lyrics. See Paradise City and many more. Yet they made history as one of the best rock bands that’s ever existed.

I think it is great! She has charisma, the song is interesting and it feels genuine and authentic. I Will certainly listen to it. I think it is my winner so far, the second best is Norway. Why are many of you so negative? I think it is the best Italian entry since Måneskin.
