Thousands of artists in Germany all share the same wish – to get the wildcard for “Unser Song für Dänemark”, the national selection for Eurovision. Over 2,000 acts applied during the qualification round. But only one artist will get the golden ticket and the chance to represent Germany in Copenhagen.
Germany’s NDR has already picked seven established artists for the final. Adel Tawil, a German singer, spearheaded the campaign to find an eighth, lesser-known act. Artists flooded the submission deadline, and now ten finalists will be selected by a special jury. They’ll compete in a special wildcard contest, which will be broadcast live on 27 February.
We can’t introduce y’all to all 2,240 acts but here are 3 of the artists battling for the wildcard.

“Where did you go?”
Palace Fever is a new formed band with 4 experienced musicians. Perfect for Eurovision? That’s what they are thinking. Their self-composed song is about a losing the love of your life. “It’s a melodic song between Rock, Folk, Country and the Beatles,” lead vocalist Julian Müller has said.
“Be a man”
He might be experienced in the music business, but he’s only 29 years old. Daniel placed third on the music show “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” and in the German version of “I’m a celebrity, get me out of here“. In the video he follows a man in a wig. Can you figure out who it is?
