Earlier this month we reported on the rumours that Donatan and Cleo may sing an English-language version of their hit “My Slowianie” (Slavic Girls) for Eurovision 2014. The latest reports emerging out of Warsaw suggest that this might be true, but only if the group performs in Polish.
The duo recently took to social media and suggested that TVP is courting them.
We were invited by TVP to a mysterious meeting today and we went. It seems you have written to TVP mass emails and letters asking (and asking) to send us to Eurovision. At the moment we do not know what to say … mixed feelings … I will sleep on it.
However, a little over a week ago Donatan said that they had no interest in competing for Poland in Eurovision. Hmm….
This all follows the release of “Slavic Girls”. Were they releasing it because Poles wanted to hear the song in English? Or did they do it with Eurovision in mind? Hmmm. You can watch the video below.
So, what do you think? Would you like Donatan & Cleo to represent Poland this year? Let us know below!

I absolutely love the Polish version of the song and I think it would be a great song to have in the contest, but I think it’ll end up being another Kate Ryan, Stella Mwangi or Magdalena Tul style moment where they’ll crash and burn in the semis. Despite this, I still love the song! Please don’t send it in English however!
Would this sound better in Polish? The chorus part is very crude sounding and just off in English.
Whoa, that one close-up breast of the butter churners was so hairy. I was perplexed.
Not good song from Poland, Poland with song Slavic girls will don t get many points from ex URSS and ex YU countries. In semi final they will get some points from UK ,Ireland (thanks to diaspora televote) Germany neighbour and diaspora, and maybe small points from Macedonia,Georgia and Belarus. They wili get maybe maximum 35 to 40 points in semi final.
This would most likely be a results disaster for Poland, but I love the Polish version of the song. Good luck Poland! 😀
I’m not against this…
But yeah. Polish.
i don’t think “slavic girls” would make the final…. even though i like the song.
it will have a better chance if it will be in english, though
If the Polish version is chosen to represent Poland at Eurovision, I will be unbelievably happy. If the English version is chosen, I will be pretty disappointed.
It’s Polish or nothing for me.
I predict televoting but jury distort everything.
The jury does not have any rules and is redundant in ESC.
Would be nice with this song. I do actually love it :3
I don’t think “Slavic Girls” was released with Eurovision in mind. It was released with the German market in mind. According to Cleo, IF they accept TVP’s offer to go to ESC, they’ll perform the song in Polish.

I like the song but it’s the Polish version or nothing. I heard somewhere that they were in talks with the Polish version, not the English version. Not sure where though.
