The second semi-final at Eurovision 2014 is full of big personalities. Austria’s Conchita Wurst—the singer who is half woman, half sausage—will face off against Belarusian playboy TEO, FYR Macedonia’s self-described MILF Tijana, and Romania’s beloved duo Paula Seling & Ovi. Norway’s Carl Espen—one of the bookies’ favourites to win the whole shebang—will hope his meloncholic ballad is enough to overcome all of them.

Precisely who will qualify is anyone’s guess. But who do you want to see make it? You can listen to each of this year’s second semi-final contestants below (or by visiting our Contestants Page). Then vote for your favourites in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you would like, but you can only vote ONE time, so make it count.

This poll closes on May 7 at midnight, just ahead of the second semi-final on May 8. It’s up to you, Europe. Start voting now!

So, we know the first ten qualifiers from the semi finals. Let’s now zone in on the second semi final: This is my honest opinion: Almost Certain Qualifiers Romania Norway Ireland (Best voting strength in the semi final. 9 allies in the semi alone, Including The UK, Norway, Finland, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Malta, Austria and Switzerland.) Greece Austria Will most likely get through Malta Israel (In light of what happened to Estonia tonight. I am a bit worried for this song now. If it was about my feelings, Israel would be an almost certain qualifier.) Switzerland (HOWEVER, this might end… Read more »

Listen guys this entire Greece/Ireland nonsense is getting out of hand. Both songs are great and will both qualify for final. However you can’t compare the two so its pointless. All that matters is that people ignore all of this crap and vote across all shows with their heart and not be railroaded by any online trolls. This is not the spirit of the Eurovision song contest Of course we all want to see our own county win but Europe will make the right decision and the best on the night will win. Good luck to all coz this year… Read more »

Stop this nonsense. Greece has a wonderful song. Ireland has a wonderful song. Both great songs. Both great countries. Why are you f**king fighting????????? STOP GUY!!!!!!! Seriously. Dont even respond to each other. Be the bigger man and stop being mean. Take all comments in your stride and let Europe decide 🙂 Please stop being negative. Its a waste of energy. Its much easier to love and be happy. Stop fighting 🙂 Please….do it for Eurovision. Do it for your love of Music and the love of your country. I agree, Greece has no chance of winning the semi final. Check their profile over on ESCTIPS. They only got like 2.5 stars out of 5. Belarus has no chance of winning this semi final either. Teo can’t sing. He sounds like Eldar Gasimov talking when he sings. If anything, both Greece and Belarus will be borderline qualifiers. Either Norway, Romania, Israel or Ireland will win this semi final.

Greece will not win the second semi final!
Ireland has more of chance of winning the 2nd Semi final and the Grand Final!!!

For those of you who said Teo – Cheesecake is better than Ireland’s entry, you must be joking? Belarus’s entry is outdated and not good at all!!

VOTE IRELAND IN THIS POLL, 2ND SEMI FINAL & THE GRAND FINAL!!

@Deven O’Kearney Oh god, you are clueless. 1: Many of the jury members are rappers this year, don’t expect Greece to be destroyed from them. Top 3 in televoting for sure. Certain qualifier. 2. Can-Linn is gorgeous but she is pationless. She has no soul. The song is ok (strong chorus but in general nothing special at all). Belarus is going to vanish Ireland, Teo has charisma, Can-Linn hasn’t. Ireland will struggle to qualify. 3. Romania is going to win the semi and do really well in the final. Returning artists, good staging, catchy song and a killer high note… Read more »

I am just going to summarize this semi final: Malta: Very nice song. I love the barnhouse vibe that comes about this song. It should qualify and come in and around 7-10 in the semi finals. Israel: Wow, big difference from both Izabo and Moran Mazor. This is a really spicy entry and Mei reminds me of Beyonce. Definite qualifier. 1st-4th in semi finals. Norway: This is a nice enough entry. However, Norway have sent better entries in the past. Is it a qualifier? Yes. Austria: Jaysus, This is f**king QUALITY entry from Ms. Wurst. Austria, Why did you send… Read more »

Hi SteliousN

I’m from Ireland. And I love Greece’s song. It’s a catchy fun upbeat dance tune. I’ve been listening to it constantly. One of my favourite songs this year. Hope your country does well. We don’t need to fight and argue and say bad things about each others country’s song. Thats not in the spirit of the competition. Wishing Greece well in the semi final and grand final. It gets high points from me 🙂

Greece will qualify 100% but I agree with the comment below. It’s too just a club banging dance song. It does not have musical quality only banging and mess and noes. Its a joke song. A novelty. A ballad will win this year. Like Armenia or Sweeden or mid tempo songs like Hungry or Ireland.

Sorry to all you greeks but you are deluding yourselfs voting for your own country lol

Bye.

Greece has a really good song. I like it a lot. But its not a Eurovision song. Its too messy and the juries will not vote for it. They will prefer to chose a song with real quality and real singing. But dont hate me for saying that. Because its a great song and I love listening to it but the juries are going to vote for a song with better singing and better melody. Greece is just a loud dance song with beats and barely any singing in it lol. It will qualify for sure. But it wont win.… Read more »

Greece wont win the semi lol. It’s too obnoxious, loud, over produced, too youth, too club. Tbh, I actually think its a great song. Id listen to it getting ready to go on a night out. I’d dance to it in a club. I’d listen to it in my car with the windows rolled down cruising along in the sunshine. BUT its not a Eurovision song unfortunately. It wont appeal to the mass voting public. The juries will also not this type of song when scoring. They will qualify but with a low placing 7th or 8th.

I think these results are fairly accurate about the semi final, I think Greece will win the semi final, with Ireland in second place and Romania in third. As for saying that Ireland sounds dated, it really doesnt!!!! It is a mixture of modern pop and Irish traditional which works really well, and worked well for Denmark last year when their Irish-influenced song actually won.

Deven O'Kearney

@ SteliosN
If ‘Heartbeat’ is dated just because it has traditional Irish elements well then so is ‘Only Teardrops’ which is actually more dated because ‘Heartbeat’ has got modern pop and traditional Irish mixed together nicely. It should qualify for the final at least.

I think that if Kasey Smith does win, Ireland with would have easily created an outstanding dynamic like Germany did with Lena Meyer Landrut. Will it be a run-away, I don’t know! Hopefully, provided that we win, we will do so comfortably.

Please tell me who you think should win Eurovision 2014. 😀

I think it is a 2 horse race to win between:

Armenia and Ireland

These are not necessarily my favourite acts this year. I am basing it on polls and betting odds. Even though their odds have lengthened, Armenia is still the favourite. As for Ireland, their odds have been slashed pretty significantly and their is a lot of support in the polls. They are also the favourites to win in other countries believe it or not.
Hence, Ireland or Armenia will win this year.

Tell me your opinion.
