Irish betting agency PaddyPower has released its first set of odds for who will win the first semi-final at Eurovision. As you’d expect, Eurovision favourite Aram Mp3 is the runaway favourite with his odds at 2/5. Besides being the bookies’ favourite to win the grand final, he’s also leading our poll to win the first semi-final, our poll to win the grand final, and our poll for Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model. Can anyone stop him on any front?
Sweden’s Sanna Nielsen, who recently released a workout video to help us get to know her, is in second with odds of 3/1. Hungary’s Andras Kallay-Saunders and Azerbaijan’s Dilara round out the Top 4.
First Semi Final Odds to win
Armenia 2/5
Sweden 3
Hungary 6
Azerbaijan 6

Estonia 50
Moldova 80
Montenegro 100
Netherlands 100
Albania 100
Iceland 100
Latvia 100
Portugal 200
San Marino 200
The odds to qualify generally follow the same pattern. They suggested that the Netherlands, Albania, Iceland, Latvia, Portugal and San Marino will not qualify for the final.

Armenia
Sweden
San Marino
Azerbaijan
Ukraine
Estonia
Netherlands
Albania
Portugal
my qualif–not in order
My preferred order (although not my projection) is:
1. Sweden
2. Portugal
3. Latvia
4. Hungary
5. Iceland
6. Montenegro
7. Estonia
8. Ukraine
9. San Marino
10. Moldova
——————–
11. Albania
12. Russia
13. Azerbaijan
14. Armenia
15. The Netherlands
16. Belgium
And looking at those odds, Hersi would be best advised to go with her original Albanian. Out of all 37 audio tracks I’ve heard, I have her at number 2 with the Albanian version. Is it too late for her to change her mind?
Upon my first listen to the audio tracks, I see it this way:
1. Hungary
2. Sweden
3. Azerbaijan
4. Belgium
5. Armenia
6. San Marino
7. Iceland
8. Estonia
9. Netherlands
10. Montenegro
This is conditional upon one thing: Whether the version Hersi sings is the Albanian studio track or the English one. She does not qualify with the English version, but with the Albanian version (with that wicked percussion), I have her at number 1, and Montenegro gets knocked out.
ARAM MP3 THE BEST! ARMENIA IS WINNER
Burbank man in the USA: you are so far of what is really the armenian as you call it greatest dream! Think it was azeries greatest dream, you got it, get a life, stupid!
This is for all those idiots who were booing during Aram’s performance in Amsterdam. I will for sure be there on May 6,8, and 10 with all my group of 34+ friends, and thankfully Aram will be the first one performing in the first semifinal. I assure you that if I hear any, tiny bit of booing, we will not ever let any, and I mean any, of the performers perform on that stage without booing our throats out. So instead of being so hateful please know that there are going to be a lot of Armenians there as well… Read more »

My hopes, I have faith something like this will happen, unlike my hopes for the second semi. I like all of my qualifying songs and my 11th place song, 12th-16th I dislike a lot.
From this semifinal I hope Hungary, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Netherlands and Montenegro will make it to the final! 🙂
Still kind of hoping Russia gets booted out in the semis for sending a crap song. Now, maybe if they had sent the Russian version, it would have been another story… My qualifiers: Armenia (obviously) Sweden (also obvious) Azerbaijan (maybe the help from the Swedes isn’t always bad) Hungary (I’m annoyed by it, but we all know it has a great chance of winning) Iceland (decent place in running order after Sweden, and the new version isn’t that bad) Ukraine (same reason as Iceland) Montenegro (I might be one of the few who prefers Sergej to Zeljko) Belgium (Netherlands will… Read more »
Once again, I hope these odds are wrong, I want to see Albania qualify, and I seriously believe Iceland do have good posibilities to pass as well.
Also, go Ukraine! I also like Russia, Estonia and Sweden.

75 % in final Hungary, Estonia
60 % in final Russia

Sweden will obviously win the semifinal. Sanna has global appeal. Aram dont.
