Moldova: Cristina Scarlat goes dark and mysterious in first rehearsal

Wiwi: Cristina Scarlat and her dancers appeared in their street clothes today, wearing all black during their first rehearsal. But as this is Moldova we know they will wear something funky and over-the-top during their second rehearsal. The act opens with Cristina standing center stage. A dancer appears to float up behind her before levitating at her neckline. The LED is a haunting forest with sinister vines emerging from the trees as Cristina says, “life can play a joke on us at any time.” Cristina’s dancers perform modern dance all around her, and over time pulsating flashes of pink appear on the forest and the floor. It looks like bacteria in a petri dish. At various points Cristina pulls on her hair, suggesting their might be a crazy head piece in the next rehearsal. The staging is dark, brooding and magical just like this song. It’s a real grower.
