Call the local sherrif: Waylon is going wild in his new video. The Dutch singer, who rose to international prominence as part of the Common Linnets, released the video for “Love Drunk” last night, and he takes the title character to heart. Heart-broken and seeking solace in the bottle, he’s also daring and flirty, and looks like someone close to rock bottom. It’s a convincing performance from one of Eurovision’s biggest breakout stars.
Waylon unveiled the video on Dutch TV show ‘RTL Boulevard‘. He also gave an interview, revealing that ‘Love Drunk’ marks a return to his roots. He also said that he’s proud of the ‘Love Drunk’ video—and he should be. The chaos of the opening minutes shows a man surrounded by dozens of people but desperately alone. At three minutes—during the super catchy bridge—the strangers suddenly dance in unison. It captures the madness of a Love Drunk—and makes you wonder if the sequence is real or imagined.
What do you think of the song and video? Does it intoxicate you as much as it intoxicates us?
