The most successful PR campaigns provide consistent, easy-to-follow messages. Belarus’s Nadezhda Misyakova has nailed it. From the national final through to her promotional photos through to today’s second rehearsal, she has presented the enchanting image of an indigenous princess. This princess has the look — think Pocohantas with a Belarusian accent — and the voice to win over the Junior Eurovision audience. She unveiled her full costume today, and it ups the ante and makes us think that she has the special ability to communicate with animals. Her staging remains among the most mysterious in the competition. That red forest is just so stirring! She may perform first, but she won’t be forgotten.
