Ever since Spain confirmed their participation at Eurovision 2015, the rumour mill has been in overdrive. Who will represent the country in Vienna? The early signs pointed towards Pablo Alborán, but all eyes quickly shifted to Edurne after she pulled out of some tv shows to focus on an “international project”. Now there’s a new name in the mix – Marta Sánchez. Tipsters are backing the singer after the Spanish blog Cazamariposas sent a tweet suggesting that Marta should sing for Spain – AND she retweeted it!

Who is Marta Sánchez?
Born in 1966 to two professional musicians, Marta was exposed to music from an early age. After taking singing lessons, she decided to become a full-time singer and joined the band Olé Olé. Following a slew of hit albums, she decided to go solo. She’s worked with some of the world’s biggest names, including Andrea Bocelli. Together they recorded the the Spanish version of “Vivo per lei“, which helped launch her internationally. Since then she’s sold more than 7 million albums and her collaboration with Carlos Baute is the second biggest selling single in the history of the Spanish charts.

Her latest single is “La Que Nuna Se Rinde”, and it’s crying out to be a mega smash.

Been a fan for 25 years. She would make a great rep for Spain
Cuanta mentira sobre la Sñra Sanchez, podra gustar mas o menos pero su curriculum esta ahi y es el que es,de todas formas algo me dice que la representante de RTVE en ESC 2015 sera Edurne.
Calm down, everybody. Marta just announced on Twitter she will NOT represent Spain in Eurovision.
She has a long career and she is a great singer BUT…….. a lot of people hate her because of her personality.
She is mmm… too diva.
She had a discussion with Edurne in Your face sounds familiar because she hasn’t sense of humour…

“Edurne, Edurne, Edurne… you could be more respectful last week as you did today, pretty”
Now one of them is going to represent Spain… lol
What? No Spanish national selection again? Another internal?
Excuse me if someone gets offended but i don’t want her representing Spain in Vienna… She isn’t nice, after Carlos Baute made her famous in Latinoamerica she throwed a lot of shit by almost calling him a thief… She has a great voice but she will never win ESC because she is too old, and of course that she won’t pull a Babushki, and look how performed the singers of her age in the past editions, e.g: Kaliopi, Nina Badric and Niamh Kanavagh… I think that the only singer in her 40’s or near that performed well were Dino Merlin… Read more »
Excuse me and with no offense but i just do not like her…
She looks like a bitch to my eyes…
I hope that my dear Espana won’t select this singer 4 Vienna’s Esc Vision..
Sorry but its just a NO 4 me…
I was a big fan of hers in the 90’s 😛 songs like Desesperada and Arena y Sol marked my childhood hah!
I think she has a great voice, so with a good song I think she could do at least as good as Pastora or Ruth.
Is she bigger than Pastora Soler? what about Monica Naranjo?
Queen of the Spanish pop?
I don’t have such a great range of knowledge in Spanish music industry but if she is such a big name in Spain, I could say that Eurovision is getting really serious: first, the contest has seen such big names from the Netherlands: Anouk, Ilsa DeLange and Trijtjne Oosterhuis, Italy: Marco Mengoni and Emma Marrone and now a Spanish diva.
With a cool song I would like to see Spain or Portugal winning!
