As we previously reported, the Common Linnets, last year’s runner up at Eurovision, recently won one of ten European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA) awarded by the European Commission. It’s in recognition of their talent and ability to cut across cultures and countries. Well their good fortune just keeps on keeping on. They were also in the race for another EBBA: the Public Choice Award. And of course they won that one too!
In their race for the Public Choice Award the Common Linnets beat other great musicians like Hozier (Ireland), Indila (France) and Milky Chance (Germany). They picked up their prize last Wednesday at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Groningen, The Netherlands.
As usual, Ilse was again very happy and shared her feelings with her Twitter followers.

Common Linnets in Copenhagen
The Common Linnets made their appearance at the 59th Eurovision SongContest last May in Copenhagen. They finished second, which nobody would have believed just a few weeks before the contest. After the contest Ilse and Waylon split, but Ilse decided that the Common Linnets had to continue. So she’s been making new music with different country artists from both Europe and the United States.
