Move over Duffy and step aside Noisettes! Maraaya is headed to Eurovision and they are ready to take Europe by storm.
It doesn’t often happen, but Slovenia is firmly and solidly in our Eurovision love bucket. The husband-wife duo — who you may remember as the brains behind Slovenia’s JESC 2014 act Ula Lozar — recently won EMA with “Here For You”. Nearly a week later we are still humming the catchy tune. It’s funky. It’s fresh. And it’s headed straight to the final! (Though we’re not sure if their radioactive violinist is).
Do you think this can match Maja Keuc’s 13th place finish from 2011? Could it go Top 10 or even Top 5? Watch our video reaction below and then let us know what you’re thinking.
we are just too small to win. regardless of the song.
“Here For You” should finish in the top 10. Personally this song is my number one.
It is a stand-out song. Instantly catchy with excellent lyrics that actually make sense.
I love the singing style. I love the sound. I’m loving the headphones too.
Top5 for sure!!! And top3 please, I really hope this will come true!!!!!!
Please, European, please let the Slovene get what they deserve!!!
Best wishes from Taiwan :)))
This is definitely catchy and quite good…will definitely stand out among all the ballads this year! In my top 10, and we could definitely see it very high up the scoreboard in the ESC final! Best wishes to them!
been listening on this on repeat for days! i really really love the vocal and it’s extremely catchy!
Yes, the song is quite good! I also liked the 2013 entry! It’s true her voice sounds a bit forced into that style of singing and not quite natural, but she does it well technically, and the song is strong enough for the final for sure and should do very well. Still, visually, she needs a better stylist, lose the headphones and violinist (sorry). I also hope the fact that it’s from Slovenia won’t count against it..so unfair. :/
They could even *win*. And if they did, it would be absolutely deserved.
Did anyone really anticipate Lena winning in 2010? Maybe Google did, but for me her win came out of nowhere. This is a similar situation: a finely polished, high-quality song that you don’t really notice gaining steam until all of a sudden it’s 8th in the betting odds. For Slovenia, that’s almost unheard of.
qualifier and top 3 for me so far…actually as we sit my tip for the top but a long road ahead yet
Deede. Do you remember Lena from Germany, I think it was five years ago. Her english was terrible, but she won. The song of Maraaya is the best and I hope they will be at the top this year!
I’d per perfectly fine with this song winning. With some of the Balkans still sitting out I’m not sure if it will make it to the top. I can almost never predict the winner so all I do is gather a group of five or six songs that I’d like to win. This is certainly one of them.
I hope you all are jocking. This song is just pointless. I really hope it will not qualify for the Final. It doesn’t deserve it, sorry.
@SteKay I like her singing style. That’s what makes this song pleasant for me
Love the song, but this will not reach the top 5…
@Lily I don’t like most (about 90%) songs on charts as well, but I like this.
I would say “step away Ella Eyre”. Don’t be so 2008, wiwibloggs!
I don’t really like songs in the charts so maybe that’s why I don’t like it but the song seems a little bland to me.
Slovenia is really a underrated country in Eurovision! In JESC 2014 they deserved a Top5 place, in Eurovision 2014 a Top10 place and this year they will be unterrated too :/
I hope they get a top 5 this year.
My top 3 is Estonia, Slovenia and Ireland, for now.
I’m in love <3 I want to se LJUBLJANA 2016 it will be just amazing. They are something speacial this year and if Eurovision is for finding something new then this is the wining song!
Check out their other single too! It’s amazing! They’re amazing!

I love how in control of her voice she is, and the overall composition of the song is brilliant. The violin parts kind of reminds me of Moldova 2010, although the songs are not similar.
I doubt Slovenia will win but it should do well with the juries. An issue is that Croatia and B&H aren’t competing this year, Albania, Serbia & Macedonia are performing in SF1 and Montenegro and Ireland are the only ones left who have given them 30+ points ever in ESC (semis and finals).
It’s should ask can It match Darja, 1995 as that that is of course there highest ever position with Prislunhi Mi
It’s my personal favourite so far. I don’t think it’ll win, but it should get top 10, or very close to it.
I love me Slovenia, Eurovision or not. But this is the best thing they’ve ever sent. I hope it gets the top 10 it deserves and with the right staging it totally could be Ljubljana 2016. Which is great because I have lots of friends with whom I could stay 🙂
Flop
I think it should be Top 5. It´s fabulous.
SteKay no I agree about her voice, but I like the song. It’s that strained sound that comes in “Down” for example, like you point out. I think that if she relaxes her voice and stops trying to do the Duffy “tricks” the track would sound much better. Here’s hoping she will! I think she’s a good singer but instead of letting her own unique voice shine she’s trying to go for a certain style that doesn’t necessarily suit her vocal chords.
Hope they do brilliantly this year. Maja was great and deserved better too.
Is it just me that really dislikes this song? The tone of her voice is so annoying and not as pitch perfect as Duffy’s (bad comparison!) I don’t get the hype for it. When she says “undertone” or “down” my body is cringing at the sounds she’s making. The music is good but I really do not like the style of singing at all.
Very beautiful song…Her voice is just amazing & unique! <3
Not many singers in the music industry have such angelic voice as her 🙂
It definitely has potentials to go well in the Diamond Vision of Vienna.. 🙂
We 'll see.. 🙂
I think this is the best song from Slovenia in years! It really has potential to do well, and I hope it can get into top 10, or even better!
This song has star power, I absolutely love it and it has my favourite lyrics out of every song minus Ireland so far. <3
It definitely stands a good chance of scoring high with the UK – it’s a very British song!
If they enter to the final, they should enjoy it, because they absolutely have no chance for top 10 with this crap.
the whywhywhy was for: Why use headphones as a trademark? It seems totally bizarre to me. And I tend to appreciate the bizarre!
Yes I know Anthony 😉 Perhaps Slovenians are used to them wearing headphones all the time + wedding attire but I’m not haha. So I enjoy it while it’s a novelty.
Euro-Sigrun, those headphones are a Maraaya trademark, like Conchita Wurst with her beard.
I will be so disappointed if they leave out the weird dancer. I love her! This song is going for top 10 in ESC, especially if the dancer goes along 😀 I really do love everything about this; the song, the oversizes headphones (whywhywhy?), the wedding dress (whywhywhy?) and the Flamenco Air-Violinist (haha why indeed)…The staging is in no connection to the song whatsoever and I LOVE IT 😀 The only thing I don’t love is the extreme Duffy-ness of the singing. I do hope she will relax her voice a bit…she’s forcing some of those Duffy-esque sounds and there’s… Read more »
For me one of best song from Slovenia. I think with this song Slovenia have great chance to be in TOP 5 , not win but from 3 to 5 place in final.
Am i the only one who thinks that the slovenian entry is just ordinary song with bad english?
They are such a cute couple, and Marjetka looks amazing for a woman with two kids. I definitely think “Here for You” has the potential to win but since this is Slovenia it’ll probably end up yet another one of their hopelessly underrated entries joining Tinkara Kovach, Ula Ložar, Maja Keuc, Hannah Mancini, and Eva Boto. I really hope it won’t and the fact Slovenia’s pretty high in the odds right now gives me hope. It’s my second favourite after Latvia at the moment but I’m liking it even more every day. Don’t think it’ll become a 12/10 from me… Read more »
While I don’t think we’ll see Ljubljana 2016 (alas), this is my favourite this year (even about GTY). It wasn’t a grower – it had instant impact, which I think bodes well. I wonder if Slovenia’s reputation might work a bit against it here – but at the same time, in a year of ballads, it’s going to stand out a bit more too.

Maraaya could take Eurovision to Ljubljana.
