Leonor Andrade may have gone quiet for a lil’ bit, but now she is heating up her bid to make the Eurovision final in Vienna. The Portuguese representative has released four new versions of her song: an English version, an acoustic version in Portuguese and Spanish, and a piano version, which she performed last week on Got Talent Portugal. Bojana Stamenov — the Serb of many tongues — has a competitor, y’all!

Leonor’s team mastered each version at the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London. “Ha Um Mar Que Nos Separa” becomes “My Own Beat (If There Are Oceans In Between Us)” in English and “La Mar Que Nos Separa” in Spanish. The electric guitars and the synthesizer transform into an acoustic guitar and a cello in the acoustic version, both in Portuguese and in Spanish. Leonor then sits on the piano. Tickling the ivories makes it way more laidback and yet way deeper at the same time. All of you who were missing a good taste of Portuguese saudade, take note! Unfortunately RTP hasn’t provided any videos to accompany the new versions, but you can listen to all of them by clicking on the links above.

There’s more. Together with all these new takes on “Ha Um Mar Que Nos Separa”, Leonor has released the karaoke version of her song as well, in case you’re a lover of the original instrumental. Listen it here!

How much do you like Leonor’s new versions? Do you prefer them to the original? Let us know below!

The piano version gives me goosebumps! Sooo amazing! The English one – not so much… I feel the lyrics don’t fill the song properly, I don’t know… Anyway, I am a fan of the song, really hope they qualify! Sad I can’t vote in the 2nd semifinal 🙁

I like both songs. I am from Portugal and I did not like our song before but after the revamp, the acoustic and now this 2 new versions i finally like my country’s song! I hope we can get into final!
I do think she is improving a lot and the English version shows a much more powerful voice. I think we can do it!

In the finals without problems. I remember 2008, 2009 and 2010. Always the same hateful messages and, after all, many of the favorite songs were left out of the final or having to be saved by the jury. The most famous case: Sweden 2008 kkkkkk

The English version has given a good amount of justice to the song. I suggest Leonor perform the song both in English and in Portugal since she appears to be good at both.

I never really paid attention to the original version of this song, but I’m in love with the English and Spanish versions! Shame they can’t change it for Vienna :/

English version is amazing! She should sing in english, for sure Portugal will receive more points with this. I like portuguese version too but its comprehension is more restrict.

The only problem I have with this song is that it’s the trickiest to sing along to this year! The Only problem.

The acoustic and piano versions are so much stronger than the original. Such a shame that they can’t switch versions of the song.

Remarkable progression. The English version is much better than the revamp version. Now just singing in Portuguese with these same improvements. I will vote for Portugal and Moldavia on the final.

Love the acoustic and piano version. Portugal is 23 in my top, but if they go with one of this versions it would be in my top 10. And thanks for the spanish version! ????

Me Again. It’s rare I like the translation out of native languages (I’m all for native language in ESC) but the English one is just bloody amazing

To be honest I really like all the versions, Portuguese and English. If I had to pick one, it would be the acoustic version.

Portugal should send the Acoustic
Greece should send the greek version – Mia Anapnoi
Serbia should send the original Serbian Ceo Svet Je Moj

@ William Lee Adams thanks for you nice comment and thank you to wiwibloggs for this news.. Portugal really need advertising! I recommend people to listen to the NEW portuguese version who will be presented in Vienna, to listen to the PIANO VERSION (absolutely stunning) and, if you want, to listen to the ENGLISH version for you to be able to understand better the message behind the lyrics!! GO GO PORTUGAL!! <3
