At San Marino‘s first rehearsal, Kamilla Ismailova was in danger of being outdone by her dress. Today she took to the stage and had something of a stop-start rehearsal, punctuated by extreme coughing. There is severe air conditioning in Arena Armeec: our throats are scratchy and we don’t even have to sing! Regardless, the song remains dynamite and the “Mirror, Mirror” hook is a total ear worm. You go Kamilla!

Junior Eurovision 2015: San Marino’s Second Rehearsal

HERE’S WHAT WE THOUGHT OF HER FIRST REHEARSAL

Call it a case of a dress wearing a girl, rather than a girl wearing a dress. Kamila Ismailova’s stunning white gown, draped in mirrors down the left side, was the centrepiece of her first rehearsal at Junior Eurovision 2015. It’s so big she has to stand on a platform to let it reach full length. The glistening train you see in the opening verse is only temporary: it actually consists of four backing dancers who themselves are wrapped in tin foil and decorated with mirrors. Their faces are obscured with masks to create a futuristic robot effect. It’s slightly unsettling not seeing their facial expressions, but their ability to pop and lock and nail their choreography more than makes up for it.

The LED is simple — pink and purple with flashes of silver — yet so effective. It provides a sufficiently interesting background that brings the very expensive costumes and choreography into sharper focus. The staging is chic and classy, and would do an oligarch proud. Kamila’s vocals were uneven today, and at times she seemed to need a glass of water. But no matter: she’s got plenty of time to iron out her issues and sparkle light her clothing.

If this was a televote only show San Marino would be fighting for the victory, easily the best staging this year, it’s really well thought and makes the song stand out, however I think it’s not gonna score well with the juries, there’re a lot of powerful singers this year and Kamilla is not one of them and that’s gonna hurt San Marino’s chances. I still think is gonna do better than expected and be San Marino’s best position ever.

This entry is unsettled. No chance for top 3. Good entry must be much more tight and accurate.

I really like this, could even win! If they would do something liek this in Eurovision, it would be amazing and achive a good and well deserved spot in the final!

Hoping for the best for San Marino <3

But they got so many points from juries and televote like Azerbaijan from 2008 to 2014.

Breaking News:
According to some unofficial sources our beloved Opera Diva Montserrat Caballe’ (age 82) is considered for Austra’s next ESC 2016 entry in Stockholm. She will be accompanied by five members of Vienna’s Boys Choir.

From my point of view, if this story comes true, Austria will be 100% a sure winner! Even in my most wishful thinkings I can’t believe this, but it would be very nice.

This is how you make a ballad stand out in a ballad year. This is now a dark horse and Malta’s biggest threat I think, especially considering the running order.
