More details have emerged about the gown Nina Kraljic will wear on stage in Stockholm. Created by acclaimed Croatian designer Juraj Zigman, the extravagant dress will light up and is so heavy that it needs to be lifted when Nina walks.
Going with the theme of the song lyrics, the dress will light up, turning Nina into her own couture lighthouse. Making the dress took a lot of work, with a team of five people taking two and a half weeks to create it – and Zigman says there are still a few last-minute adjustments to be made.
The dress is so heavy that Nina’s backing vocalists have been drafted in to help out. Like bridesmaids, they’ll hold the dress while Nina walks to stage.
And this dress isn’t getting crammed in anyone’s suitcase – it’s been sent to Stockholm special delivery. When Nina arrives at the Globe, she’ll wear it with silver sequinned shoes designed by Croatian cobbler Ivan Ledenko.
Juraj Zigman also designed the dress Nina has worn at recent live events, including Eurovision In Concert:

But it’s not just about the frock. In a recent acoustic performance, Nina sounded in top form, delivering a stripped back performance of “Lighthouse”.
Accompanied by just an acoustic guitar, Nina demonstrated both the power of her song and her vocals, and justified Croatia’s favourable odds to qualify from the first semi-final.
#WiwiJam
And don’t forget that Nina will be part of the inaugural #WiwiJam. She’ll be performing at the Hard Rock Cafe Stockholm on 11 May, kicking off a 6pm.
Also on the bill will be Barei, Suzy, the Hungry Hearts featuring Lisa Dillan and Greta Salóme – as well as even more amazing musical guests we can’t wait to share with you! Admission is free, but due to overwhelming interest, you’ll need a ticket to enter, so get your ticket here.
not fair to say all croats are voting for it. i’m one of them and this song is #11 in my order 🙂
Sounds a bit pitchy. I’m Croatian.
Sweden’s victory really has an effect on this year’s show. Every country seems to put a lot of effort into the visuals.
By the way, I’m 100% sure Nina will qualify. And I’m not Croatian.
@Urska No no, that comment is for Poland, because only Polish people loves that song HHAHAAHHA lol 😛
@light star
well i must say this to you, i’ve got respect for you supporting Nina, she really is a unique singer and performer, her voice reminds me a little of Ellie Goulding who i really like as well 🙂
I think 99 % of comments to this article wrote Croats from Croatia .

And that is true – she sounded in top form – I think she’s ready for Stockholm 🙂
@Rock Me

so good luck to your favourite Nina, and i hope she’ll slay in may 🙂
Everything about Nina is unique.It’s also normal that there are haters, everything that is special & stands out has haters.
She will shine in Stockholm, I know it!
@Thomas

i liked 3 countries, all singers end with an ”a” in their first name Nina, Ira and Gabriela 🙂 🙂

She has a fantastic song and voice. I hope she doesn’t ruin her appearance with a kitch gown.
@robyn g. It seems to me you really like Nina – did u watch her acoustic live performance from yesterdays concert? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BBLpDUp6pCo
Many ask why she have big drop on betting odds and why on some forums people see her as a non qualifier, maybe because she don t have charisma (she is good singer and she have one of best vocal this year at Eurovision) , maybe because song is similar with swedish song Uncover by Zara Larrson. Maybe because I semi final is so dificult and we have countries with 100 % record to go to final like Greece, Bosnia,Russia, Azerbaijan plus many good song from other countries in that semifinal. Armenia,Estonia,Iceland, Malta, Hungary, Czech Republic,The Netherlands. For me only… Read more »
@Ben Rafter Agree, she’s great.. @Nicky91 They see her that just because it’s Croatia, same in the odds, Croatia is a country that didn’t have much success in last few years.. Go Nina and Croatia!
@Ben Rafter
i don’t know why, on some other forums people see her as a shock non-qualifier
I think Nina is unique, awesome and i love her look, i hope she goes for the black dress, i like a bit of goth style, it kinda suits the song
for me definitely should qualify from semi final 1, based on whole package of the act:
1. Malta
2. Croatia
3. Czech Republic
4. Armenia
5. Azerbaijan
6. Greece
and for all i know i don’t care who the other 4 are, i hope at least San Marino 🙂
This song was like 3rd in odds and now is like 15th. Why the big drop? She was amazing at all of the preview parties.
