yianna terzi eternity stereo soul oniro mou

This Greek epic has got a re-write! Greece’s Yianna Terzi recently took to the internet to debut some of the English-language version of her Eurovision 2018 entry, “Oniro Mou”. Performed entirely acapella, the English version – titled “Eternity” – appeared on her Instagram earlier in the week.

For her performance, Yianna was joined by long-time rumoured Greek act, Stereo Soul.

Yianna Terzi ft. Stereo Soul — “Eternity”

Those harmonies give us all the feels. Yianna sounds in great voice live – and it’s interesting to hear the song in the new language.

Of course, she won’t be performing alongside Stereo Soul at Eurovision, but Yianna has also given us a teaser of what we might hear in Lisbon. She shared a video on her Facebook of one of her vocal rehearsals. It looks like there’s going to be plenty of Greek vocal power in the Altice Arena!

In keeping with Greek tradition of late, Yianna has not appeared at any of the Eurovision Pre-Party events. Instead, she’s been focusing on working out the song back at home.

The only live performance we’ve seen of the song so far has been her recent performance at the MadWalk charity event.

Yianna Terzi — “Oniro Mou” @ MadWalk 2018

Whilst the performance might not be fully live, Yianna certainly looks the part on stage. She worked that runway, y’all! As always with Greece, we’re expecting a big stage show in Lisbon too.

Yianna currently sits 10th in the betting odds to win Eurovision — could that rise further when we see her rehearsals?

What do you think of “Eternity”? Would you like to hear the full song in English, or should Yianna stick to Greek? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments section below!

I dont worry about vocals, Yianna has a good voice and Victoria Halkiti who is the vocal coash is perfect on what she does and very experienced. I really worry about the staging. Its difficult to nail it but if they do, this is top5 for sure.

Greece this year deserves top 3! This is my favorite song this year but I think Isreal can’t be beaten this year! But you never know… 😉
Greetings from Russia brothers. <3

I agree , if they nail the live show, it should be top 3. It’s my personal winner. Unfortunately I think that Israel will win too.

The Greek version is better I think. The English version is OK, but I get the feeling they’re trying to cram English words into a pre-existing rhythm. Ughh! As for the online rehearsal video posted online, it is very strong. It was Yianna, 3 female vocalists and one male vocalist. In Lisbon, there may also be a male dancer on stage with them, but this has not yet been confirmed. Yianna stated that she wants to have blue and white colored lighting on stage, but she doesn’t want to overdo the traditional elements. She wants it to feel modern, rather… Read more »

Dear Chris – let’s have a poll to vote between entries with ethno vibes! Because I think that those entries belong to Eurovision – I hope we will always have them.

With your new design I have lost my monster although I am using the same e-mail address. I want it back please! What do I have to do?

This contest is in the framework of a European Song Contest based supposedly on European diversity and quality ( lyrics, production, performance) . Who said songs must be funny to be good?

Greece is trying to copy 1944 from Jamala in 2016. Sounds dramatically and sad but not epic. This song doesn’t sounds modern. This year the winner has to be modern, different and EPIC.
But for Eurovision it could be great unfortunately.

@Jamala, everything you wrote about is a description of the opposite of the real situation. Actually, Greece didn’t try to copy anything this year, but it sends a unique, epic, mystical and ethnic song, based on ancient Greek vibes, beautifully blended with modern sounds. Now, tell us, which is that song which you find “modern, different and epic” this year if that’s not Greece?

Marina Satti would indeed be an awesome choice as long as her song would be a characteristic Marina Satti song. I am living for her unique music style!

If Greece makes a national final again I would love to see a nostalgia medley of ‘this is love/rain falls from above’ – ‘don’t forget the sun’ – ‘utopian land’, performed live by Shaya and with a sign language expert.

This song deserves top ten more than any other hyped entries this year such as those by Australia, Bulgaria, Norway, Sweden and of course Israel. It carries quality and European essence. Portugal, Italy, Spain, Greece or France would be well deserved winners in a European Song Contest.

Some music is timeless Jamala, especially ethnic like the Greek or romantic like the Spanish . And epic will depend on the goose bumps by the performamce.

You lost me at Spain and Greece. By your logic, songs like Serbia, Armenia, Montenegro or Slovenia would also be top ten material, when in reality all those four songs are average at best. It’s not just an “European vibe” that makes a song a Eurovision winner, it’s the whole package on the night.

Totally agree. It is the whole package for me including European essence. Greece and Spain have it under my opinion. Portugal too. I also like France Italy and Armenia. Montenegro is ok…. And I don’t like Slovenia, Serbia and Albania, though Eugent is a great performer but with an average song. Hope you get now my point .

The Greek lyrics sounds more poetic, that’s for sure. Interesting vocal abilities, the staging’s definetely gonna make it or break it. I can see this winning in the end, tho, it gives me Jamala and Salvador’s vibes. Best of luck!
