She’s the “Tears Getting Sober” hitmaker who will return to sing for Bulgaria at Eurovision 2021. Now, VICTORIA is getting ready to release her song for Rotterdam. Today, the Eurovision 2020 fan favourite announced the titles of her six potential Eurovision 2021 songs.

Five of the six tracks appear on the singer’s upcoming EP “a little dramatic”.

VICTORIA announces the titles of six potential Eurovision 2021 songs

Eurovision Bulgaria announced the song titles on Twitter, in celebration of the #100DaysToEurovision countdown.

Here are the titles of VICTORIA’s potential Eurovision songs:

  • “UGLY CRY”
  • “Imaginary Friend”
  • “Dive Into Unknown”
  • “Phantom Pain”
  • “The Funeral Song”
  • “Growing Up Is Getting Old”

VICTORIA released “UGLY CRY” in November 2020 and confirmed it was one of the tracks shortlisted to be her song for Rotterdam. The remaining five tracks are all taken from VICTORIA’s upcoming EP “a little dramatic”. The first of these tracks, “Imaginary Friend”, will be released on Sunday 14 February via eurovision.icard.com and VICTORIA’s official YouTube channel.

“There are less than 3 days until the release of the first song from my EP, ‘a little dramatic’. I am proud that I can finally share my new music with the world,” VICTORIA says. “This would be impossible without BNT, Ligna and iCard, who for a second year are making my Eurovision journey possible. I am grateful for the support of my amazing team. We had the ambitious task to release not one, but 5 new songs and I hope people will enjoy them.”

After all of the songs are presented, the Bulgarian Eurovision team will launch an online platform which will allow music fans around the world to leave comments and give feedback about the six potential songs. This will be part of Bulgaria’s internal selection process and will ultimately inform the song decision for Eurovision 2021. Additionally, VICTORIA and her team will also look for feedback from focus groups of music, TV, radio and Eurovision experts to make their final decision.

What do you think of these song titles? Which track are you looking forward to hearing the most? Let us know in the comments below!

*Imaginary friend* and *Growing Up Is Getting Old* aren’t new, the songs both were shortlisted among the five possible songs in 2020.

“Phantom Pain” made me think of Metal Gear Solid. 😉

This is a really good idea and was something that Romania did well last year. If you have a young artist who you think has international potential, releasing a collection of songs as part of the Eurovision process, rather than just one, goes a long way to getting their style of music over to a large audience.

Extremely clever decision by the Bulgarian team to put out the songs, then hear professional and internet feedback, and then internally pick a song, instead of a public vote. This will be exciting!

Also The Funeral song is giving me Phoebe Bridgers vibes which is a very good thing!

  • I hope for “The Funeral Song” – sounds interesting. Btw – I don’t like (no hate) the “UGLY CRY” song very much but Victory and her team will do the right thing. They will find the right song that fits her and works in the Eurovision.

her entire style / image is so billie eilish’d, even the all lowercase titles ! i won’t complain tho, it works for her

To be honest, Billie Eilish is more like the most famous example of a trend in music so I see Victoria as another artist operating in that same genre rather than a carbon copy.

the singing (whispering) style, the aesthetics, the themes, the sound… she’s keeping up with the times but i feel like she needs some more individuality bc the billieprint is a tad too obvious

This sounds really professional even by the look of Victoria dressed for funeral and the titles revealed. I’m sure this album will be full with pain and hope. After what last year and a half brought to me I’m ready to have some cry and hope listening to this masterpieces! People calling this try-hard effort, well I’m sure you guys wish your country try this hard for Eurovision. #BulgariaTakeItSerious

All song titles seem interesting in my opinion, except for The Funeral Song, the name sounds a bit generic in my opinion.

Even the titles sound refreshing. Wish the artists chosen by my country were this original and edgy.

Some intriguing names there. And it turns out Danny won’t have the only funeral song of the Eurovision season. 😀

By the way, it’s official, Benny Cristo’s song will be out February 16th, 19h CET: https://twitter.com/Eurovision/status/1359934987836026881
