Every day, between now and the contest in May, the team from wiwibloggs will round up the latest titbits from the world of Eurovision 2021. We trawl through Instagram, Twitter and elsewhere so that y’all don’t have to. In today’s Daily Digest Lesley Roy releases a lyric video, Anxhela Peristeri celebrates her birthday and Eden Alene teases the “Set Me Free” revamp. But first…
Eurovision news: 24 March
Montaigne confirms there will be a music video for “Technicolour”
Montaigne has confirmed on Twitter that the music video for Australia’s Eurovision 2021 entry “Technicolour” is coming. After Tuesday’s vlog, she revealed that the music video is in the works. Up to now, her performance at Sydney’s Mardi Gras has been used in lieu of an official music video. (Luis)
forgot to mention in my vlog that music video for technicolour is in the works!

Måneskin pick up Amnesty International nomination
Måneskin and Italy’s Eurovision 2016 star Francesca Michielin have been nominated for the Amnesty International Italia Award in the “Big” category. The Italian Eurovision stars were recognised for their 2020 collaboration “Stato di natura”, which examined many social issues in the lyrics. The award winner will be announced at this year’s Voci per la Libertà festival in July. (Robyn)
Lesley Roy releases “Maps” lyric video
Lesley Roy has released the official lyric video for “Maps”. The Dublin-born singer-songwriter released her Eurovision 2021 song for Ireland and its music video back in February — but now, you can learn the lyrics and enjoy a view of the picturesque Emerald Isle coast. The “Maps” lyric video was produced by Irish Eurovision superfan Conor — @ESCConor on Twitter.Watch the video below for all your sing-a-long needs. (Oliver A)
Elena Tsagarinou reacts to Victoria’s “Growing Up Is Getting Old”
Cyprus’ Elena Tsagarinou filmed her back-up performance for Eurovision 2021 in Bulgaria earlier this week. While there, the Bulgarian team introduced her to Victoria’s “Growing Up Is Getting Old” and asked the “El Diablo” popstar for her reaction. “It’s completely perfect. I love it. So emotional, so real”, she says. “It’s about what we’re feeling now, I think”.
Albina sings jazz version of “Tick-Tock”
Albina’s “Tick-Tock” is an unabashed pop banger. But for a recent performance at the Večernjakova ruža awards ceremony in Croatia, the Dora winner treated us to a jazz version of her Eurovision number, complete with a live audience. It’s “Tick-Tock”, but like you’ve never heard it before.
Happy birthday Anxhela Peristeri!
Albania’s “Karma” songstress turned 35 on Wednesday and celebrated with a glamorous birthday bash. Anxhela shared lots of pictures from the party on her Instagram, but the highlight for Eurovision fans will be her cake. The giant gateau was Eurovision themed, featuring the song contest logo, a microphone and musical notes.

Eden Alene shares another teaser for “Set Me Free” revamp
Earlier in the week, we saw behind the scenes filming of the music video for Eden Alene’s “Set Me Free” revamp. That footage was from a distance and the song could only be heard faintly. However, Eden has followed that up with a snippet from the music video with studio-quality audio. She promises that the full video is “coming soon”.

What do you think of Lesley’s lyrics video? Are you excited for Eden’s revamp? Let us know in the comments.
There’s a leak on youtube – unclear if it is the final version, but it is MUCH improved. They took out the “oh oh oh” chorus, increase the ethnic elements, and showcase her voice better at the end.
In order to have a winner, we need to have songs like this! This is a typical non winning esc song that screams “border qualifier”/one of the first non qualifier songs. Every song has its fans, so does this one, but the general public should be realistic. No meter how many times they revamp this pieace, this is simply not good enough song to rank high at Eurovision – Period!
Woow Croatia, Tick-Tockkk
Euromix reports that the Set me free revamp contains:
Set me free already sounds better.
Wow that version of Tick-Tock is perfect! “Fancy” hahah
Eden’s team has the advantage of knowing all the songs in SF1. Instead of competing with Norway, Azerbaijan, Cyprus or Ireland with a slightly ethnic pop song they can revamp “Set Me Free” to be ethno R&B which will bring it much closer in line to competing w/ Malta.
The revamp sounds great and I loved that jazz version of tick-tock!
You literally heard five seconds of it…it sounds the exact same. It’s not qualifying period. It may sound harsh but I pride myself on being honest you know.
and you know what? you also only heard 5 seconds of it…
lmfao can you just go away. your the most annoying and obnoxious person ive ever encountered on this site, leaving hateful comments wherever you go. every post i click i see your comments. nobody cares about your constant negative and hateful opinions take em somewhere else!
You are only sharing your opinion. Don’t portray yourself as some sort of Eurovision oracle:-)
It’s funny how they release these reaction videos now. Am I supposed to believe that you haven’t checked song that’s like 5th in winning odds and is out for weeks? xd Sure
It seemed genuine to me.
Really? The beginning where she says she’s never ever heard it before seems very scripted imo. They’re both great though! For sure potential winners.
Do you think that the artists have so much free time so that they listen to all the 39 songs? Of course not! They are working everyday and many hours so that they bring the best result.
All? No. Top 10? Especially if you want to win ESC? Hell yes. It takes 30 minutes. Noone is that busy.
Moderators are doing more good work tonight, thank you.
We need more Croatian in Tick Tock! Sounds so good!
Montaigne: glad to hear it! Albina: I like this smooth jazz version of Tick Tock, reminds me a little of Sade’s ‘Smooth Operator’ Maneskin and Francesca: how interesting, good luck to them! The lyrics are worth a look, “We are slaves to a patriarchal culture, The culture of possession” Lesley: lyric videos are popular, so it makes sense. Elena: this video is pretty sweet, Elena seems genuinely moved by the song and the video. It’s a really kind reaction, and exactly the kind of feeling the Bulgarian team want to inspire in the televoters, to get them voting. I always… Read more »
