After two years of internal selections, Germany has returned to a national final for the first time since 2019. However, the Unser Lied für… format has been retired, and instead we’re getting the all new Germany 12 Points. It’s a one-shot final, with the end result determined by the same public that awarded S!sters top marks back in the day.
Here’s when and how you can watch Germany’s national final for Eurovision 2022
Watch Germany 12 Points online
Grand Final — 4 March
Time: 21:00 CET to 22:30 CET
There are six acts in contention for the top prize. They’ll perform in the following order:
- Malik Harris “Rockstars”
- Maël & Jonas “I Swear to God”
- Eros Atomus “Alive”
- Emily Roberts “Soap”
- Felicia Lu “Anxiety”
- Nico Suave & Team Liebe “Hallo Welt”
The vote will be decided by public vote alone. These votes will be divided into two constituencies. The first is the televote consisting of phone and SMS votes cast on the night. The second is online votes, which have been coming in since Monday. Once both sets of votes are combined, we’ll have a winner.
Germany’s regular national final host Barbara Schöneberger will oversee proceedings once again. Aside from the competition, there will also be a rich selection of musical guests in studio. These include Eurovision 2014 winner Conchita Wurst, Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala and Germany’s Eurovision 2006 singer Jane Comerford (of Texas Lightning).
Are you tuning into Germany’s new selection format? Where will your 12 points go?
German tv should have dropped the song ‘alive’, lyrics are kind of inappropriate due to the current circumstances. Eros has a lovely voice, but the song not for this year!
Malik has the best vocals and he captivates the stage and audience, although Rockstars isn’t the best song in Eurovision if it goes, it is the best tonight. Credible entry.
The link doesn’t work here anyway
I think it’s this one: https://www.eurovision.de/news/Jetzt-live-ESC-Vorentscheid-Germany-12-Points,vorentscheid850.html
This is the only NF today and it’s still hard to force myself to watch it lmao
says a lot
Fans are throwing stones at this national final and all its contestants just because some troll song didn’t qualify, as if Eskimo Callboy is the best thing Germany could offer and then they dropped the chance…I’m watching the show tonight!
with or without eskimo callboy, the songs are just bad.
They’re just safe, but they’re not bad.
Embers was also safe.
Felicia Lu ain’t bad!
I would rather have my phone fall in the toilet than watch this national final. Waste of time for which song will come 21st-25th
My advice also would be: don’t do it at all.
(Even as a German, I definitely won’t tune in, since I don’t want to justify what mustn’t be justified)
How to watch: Simply don’t do it, save your time for something better…
(As a German, I will definitely tune in and I already regret it ?)
To me the selection is not underrated, but at the same time I personally am still (or rather again) super excited for it. I was very disappointed after EC didn’t get through as well (and I still would love them there), but I honestly can see and appreciate the effort of artists, Production etc. alike. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the standard is surprisingly high given the initial outlook. Plus: Felicia Lu has proven again and again and AGAIN that her song has more potential than it initially seemed plus she is BURNING for Eurovision and does… Read more »
And that was supposed to be an emoji heart <3 and not a question mark at the end
Off Topic: A snippet of the Austrian song was released, I assume accidentally:

This selection is very underrated. No bad songs and it is honestly one of my faves of the year based on the studio versions. Cannot wait to watch it live tomorrow.
My biggest problem with this selection is that nothing stands out for me. Rather that bad I see the songs as mediocre and forgetable.
My biggest problem with this selection is that the songs are bad.
Achille Lauro (San Marino 2022) just released the studio version of Stripper on Spotify and it’s great! The music video with English subtitled is also out on YouTube. Please write about it. Thanks. 🙂
It’s hilarious to realize I’m more interested in your comment than in Germany’s selection lmao
Malik needs to win!!!!!
