She drenched us with sass in “That’s Rich” and got our pulses racing in her summer sizzler “Tongues”, and now Ireland’s Eurovision 2022 representative Brooke Scullion is back with new music. She shows us a new side in her follow-up single, “Heartbreaker”, which will be out on music platforms on Friday 26th August.
Brooke gets vulnerable in new single “Heartbreaker”
After a summer of touring around Ireland, the UK and Spain, Brooke has dropped her third single of the year. “Heartbreaker” is a dreamy guitar-pop number where we see Brooke pour out her emotions over a break up. In an exclusive statement sent to wiwibloggs Brooke says:
“Heartbreaker is written from the perspective of pre-empting pain. Every relationship begins with the intention of a future but unfortunately this dream scenario doesn’t always last. Heartbreaker explores how to end a relationship, without hurting someone which is a scenario everyone can relate to. I think people will enjoy the alternative perspective of the song – in a way it’s an ‘anti break-up song,’ where you consider your partner’s feelings while prioritising your own.”
The song was written by Brooke herself, along with Lleo/Lucy Whittaker, Naomi Hammerton and Karl Zine. As summer draws to a close, the Derry girl continues to showcase her ever growing repertoire and we can only imagine what she has waiting around the corner for us next!

Such a lovely girl and a credit to her country. Glad to see her moving on so positively.
Brooke was so robbed in Turin but I’m glad to see her on a roll and keeping momentum! Her follow ups to That’s Rich have been pretty cool and —dare I say, better than That’s Rich itself (but that’s my current opinion, I can change my mind later), and I love That’s Rich too 😀
Great track – glad to see she’s keeping at it. Biggest snub of the year when she didn’t advance. Also, unrelated, but the Board of TVR unanimously approved Romania’s participation next year so they will, in fact, be sticking around. They also apparently contacted a law firm in Switzerland to see what their chances of winning against the EBU in court about the cheating would be (my guess? Not good), but besides that, it’s gone down about the way I expected: they realized Eurovision is too big a deal to make themselves look foolish any longer about saying they might… Read more »
Maybe Eda Marcus can make a cameo appearance and say “Nu Cred” everytime there is a suspicious vote, including the fabricated ones that cheated Spain out of 2nd spot.
In my opinion all 6 countries should be banned for the next few years because they should’ve been automatically excluded from the results and all been banned during semi 2 after the ebu found out they had cheated
It was funny to see the TVR vs EBU saga come to an abrupt end, though it had this bitter taste as EBU didn’t do anything beyond that as usual and the “aggregate” made up scores left much to be desired and didn’t bother to prevent such a scenario in the future
I just find it mad how they were caught cheating so blatently and then throw a tantrum because they weren’t allowed to give their results in the final. If you cheat in the semis, you don’t get a vote in the final, doesn’t matter if you intended to cheat in the final.
She better come back to Eurovision and win! She deserves it!
