She’s worked as a make-up artist and cruelty-free beauty blogger. And now Ailsha is pursuing her biggest passion — singing — as a finalist in Ireland’s Eurosong 2024.
Ailsha said she wanted to create a banger, and it would seem the bookies think she has. She’s currently the runaway favourite to win the Irish Eurovision selection.

They are all universally terrible. Go bananas or whatever it is called is trying to rip off Shum but actually sounds like Katie Price’s terrible 2005 attempt to represent the UK. None are good enough to reach the final. And a boyzone style boy band? Really??? At least now we know how a barrel being scraped sounds

I have a bad feeling Go Tobann might flop live, it’s hard to see how they can pull it off especially in the late late studio. Bambie might be the more polished to go to Malmo but either give Ireland a chance unless the other 4 safe songs.
“Love like Us” is still my fave from Ireland!!!!!!
It sounds like an off cut from one directions first album…bland. The only ones pushing it as a winner are Louis Walsh and his mate Linda Martin thankfully.

There’s no ‘stage’ in the studio so please focus on the song delivery… Worry about staging if you succeed. Bambi Thug (favourite for substance) and Alisha (banger but a bit grating) both have that theatrical vibe in their dress and movement… That’s enough… Let the cameras follow you… Don’t try and work around that tiny space… it never works. @bambi thug… In your Twitter feed #sendthewitch (love it) there’s a short clip of you doing the soft component really slowly and utterly beautifully… That would make a great end point for the song ‘live’… Bring us back down and leave… Read more »

When Bambie is also in the selection, thrrrs only one I can support.
Ailsha would be a “different” choice for us but the song just doesn’t grab me. I appreciate the use of Gaelige in it though
Hoping for either (or both) Ailsha or Bambie Thug to nail the staging, I think both options provide something a bit different and modern for this years competition where so many front runners are leaning heavily into the nostalgia factor. Obviously the boyband has an advantage with the Late Late stage but I think both Ailsha and especially Bambie Thug should be able to show off to their strengths on that intimate stage with good lighting and smart decisions on camera angles if they can have the input. I think with that, it’s time for Bambie Thug fans to rally behind Ailsha, because she’s gonna need all the support she can get against the generic boy band and pop songs.
People think focusing on one entry would help, but it’s actually quite opposite, if there is more than one entry which is fan-favourite that means less chance for someone else. Entries cancelling each other out was never a thing if both were executed well on stage.
Not our problem really. Am going to support the best song. If Ireland ends up sending one of the DOA NQers, that’s sadly down to their selection committee putting them in there.
Wonder though how it will be staged. Cause Late Late studio is not favourable for ” difficult entries ”

I think part of the reason it’s leading the odds is to with the other big favourite, Bambie, not having such a great staging concept. It’s much more difficult to stage Doomsday Blue, because people are still figuring out what it’s about. Also, there’s more of an immediate melodic hook with Go Tobann and it’s more memorable due to it being upbeat, rocky and celtic infused.
I disagree. I find Doomsday Blue has a better hook that I can’t get out of my head. Bambie released a staging clip that looked compelling and fit a small stage.
I like both songs but I think Doonsday Blue will be the most memorable sbd the best bet for Malmo.
You always know when people start fretting about “staging” and “live performance” that the song is a dud.
I think we can rule out two words for the Irish national selection this year (especially if the polls are correct)… ‘A’ and ‘Success’.
Two words to rule in though. “Didnt” and “qualify”.
Yes, it’s my favorite and more I listen to it the more I like it. But then there’s also Bambie Thug with much sleeker and cleaner production and I would be equaly happy if it won. I’m still worried that in the end it will be the Blandstreet Boys.
For me it’s perfect because it’s VERY out there and memorable, not safe but I can feel a good result if the right staging is given to it, but at the same time it’s also not too strange in comparison to Doomsday Blue.

Agree. If they clean up the production a bit, it would be (even) more likeable. That said, I love its chaotic mess energy, and I definitely think Ailsha is Ireland’s best option this year to get back in the ESC finals.
Any other year, I would hugely support Ailsha and really hope she won. Not this year, however, not with Bambie Thug in the same contest. It’s like buses, as they say, you wait forever and then two come along at once.
I agree! My preference is Bambie Thug but I would be happy with Ailsha.
And maybe both busses collide and the tired, beaten boyband horse on its last legs swoops in right before the finish line after all.

I feel the reverse– I’ve really connected with “Go Tobann” in the last few days. But either would be an amazing pick.
