Heat Two of Lithuania’s Eurovizija.LT was filmed on the evening of Tuesday, 16 January. The show will feature a special performance from jury member (and Lithuania’s Eurovision 2018 singer) Ieva Zasimauskaitė. But the main event will be the 8 acts and songs that will compete to perform in the final on Saturday 17 February.

The show is again set to feature a refreshing female-only team of hosts — Gabrielė Martirosian and Nombeko Augustė. Nevertheless, they will be again joined by a famous Lithuanian TikToker – Nerijus Trilikauskas, better known as xKHEN.

The show also marks the exciting return of 2013 alum Andrius Pojavis, whose return to Eurovision would set the scene for a wonderful catch-up with Norway’s Margaret Berger, who’s also potentially going back to Eurovision after her earlier spin in Malmö, Sweden.

Eurovizija.LT 2024 heat two running order

  • Andrius Pojavis – “Sing me a hug”
  • Eley – “Rock My Body”
  • Deividas Valma – “Blood On Your Hands”
  • Aistè – “We Will Rule the World”
  • Žalvarinis – “Gaudė Vėjai”
  • Paula Urbana – “It Is What It Is”
  • Thomas G – “Us”
  • Multiks – “Vėjas galvoje”

Let’s get to know these acts a little bit further.

Andrius Pojavis – “Sing me a hug”

Andrius Pojavis is back in Lithuania. After having spent years living in Italy, Andrius is back 11 years after his victorious win at Nacionaline ‘Eurovizijos’ Atranka 2013. He went on to finish 22nd in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, which was held in Malmö too. His entry’s name ‘Sing me a hug’ suggests we should be in for a lyrical genius return, just as we have missed Andrius’ lyrics about his shoes called Love and Pain.

Eglė Jakštytė // Eley – “Rock My Body”

Eglė is very familiar with being on TV and taking part in different shows for years. The first time she took part in Lithuania’s Eurovision preselection was 13 years ago, in 2011. Her most successful attempt was in 2016 with ‘Leisk Dar Būti’, which made it through to Show 6. This year she’s taking part in Eurovizija.LT under her stage name Eley with a song called ‘Rock My Body’.

Deividas Valma – “Blood on Your Hands”

Deividas is a two-time finalist on X Faktorius and made it to the semi-finals of The Voice of Lithuania, however this year he’s decided to enter Eurovizija.LT for the first time. As Deividas explained to 15min, the song was written specifically for the contest and actually can have two meanings. The primary meaning behind “Blood on Your Hands” is that it’s about a failed relationship and someone’s fault in it, however, Deividas thinks the song can take another meaning representing war between nations.

Aistè – “We Will Rule The World”

Aistè has made an impressive debut in the Lithuanian music scene last year. The London-based artist released a gospel, psychedelic, and soul-inspired music album called „The Theory of Everything“ and organized a number of shows in Lithuania. She has already received 2 „M.A.M.A“ (Music Association Year Awards) nominations. She’s trying her luck with a song submitted at the last moment, according to her. Nevertheless, the singer is hoping her recent success will turn into public and jury votes.

Žalvarinis – “Gaudė Vėjai”

Žalvarinis is a folk rock band from Vilnius, tracing back its debut to 2001. As Robertas Semeniukas – the current band’s guitarist and music composer, has explained to LRT in a recent interview that the band has been receiving questions if they were to ever take part in Eurovision national pre-selection for many years, their answer back in 2005 when speaking to the former LRT Eurovision commentator Darius Užkuraitis, was that it would never happen. However, many years have passed since then and it’s finally the first try of the experienced band at Eurovizija.LT with their highly anticipated folk-rock song Gaudė Vėjai.

Paula Urbana – “It Is What It Is”

Paula is making her debut at Eurovizija.LT. Having recently released a single called Post Humanity, she follows it up with a participation at Eurovision pre-selection. We’ll have to wait until Saturday to find out if she snatches one of the two spots in the final.

Thomas G – “Us”

It’s another debut at Eurovizija.LT. Thomas G (real name Tomas Gailiūnas) is hoping to leave an impact with his entry ‘Us’. He has recently started releasing songs on his YouTube and Spotify channels, mostly with Lithuanian language releases such as Šalia, Parodyk Kelia, and Ramybė.

Multiks – “Vėjas galvoje”

Multiks is making its second appearance on LRT’s national pre-selection for Eurovision. Last year they debuted with a song called ‘London’. Considering that the contest was held in Liverpool, it would have been an interesting choice for Lithuanian people to elect Multiks last year. This year they opted to perform a Lithuanian language song called ‘Vėjas Galvoje’.

While we’re still missing Andrius Pojavis’ song and I’m not too confident he’s not finishing deadlast. My hopes are for Paula Urbana and her song “It Is What It Is” and a precious gem by Zalvarinis, “Gaude vejai”, to advance.

Pojavis’ song was floating around on TikTok, it’s a very boring ballad. He won’t advance to the final, no chances.

Can I present a hot take? I don’t think Pojavis should’ve qualified in 2013.

Multiks have also participated in the Lithuanian national selection in 2012 and 2013, so it’s at least their 4th time (unless I’m not aware of their other attempts)

Are you going to write about the Next Star to Eurovision now that there are 10 left?
You used to write about each episode in the past…

Full circle. Andrius Pojavis “Something” (2013) was one of the very first ESC song reviews I ever wrote for Wiwibloggs. It’s great to have him come round again. Music flows through Andrius. Of course I adore his song “The Gardener”, so I’m quietly hoping for that alternative piano sound. (Probably just me though.)
