Team Wiwi was cheering “Benissimo!” over and over tonight as we watched the first night of Sanremo 2015. Filled with both ballads and upbeat songs, Sanremo will no doubt deliver an amazing song for Vienna. Sadly, only one of twenty acts will be chosen.
Sanremo isn’t just unique for its songs: its also unique for its scoring system, which keeps fans guessing. At the end of the show the judges reveal the Top 6 acts and the Bottom 4 acts. However, the acts are presented randomly so you don’t know their precise placement within their group. Anything is still possible as the festival continues. Even so, for the bottom 4 we are left saying “Che pietĂ ”. So who’s up and who’s down? Read on…

And no, dhani, she’s an Italian X Factor winner đ I watched her edition and she just owned the competition, her Massive Attack’s Teardrop cover was phenomenal.
I’m quite disappointed by many songs, expecially by Annalisa’s one. Dear Jack are terrible in my opinion, just something to grab votes from young people, I hope juries will save us.
I really like Chiara’s song (it reminds me of Siru somehow, they have both strong vocals and a powerful but still catchy ballad) but I think Nek’s is the one. It’s a catchy, contemporary and interesting song, it could do quite well at the Eurovision, but sadly I don’t see him winning Sanremo.
NEK was my favourite, followed by Chiara. Disappointed by Annalisa’s song. Great voice as always but song just doesn’t cut it.

Oh I didn’t know Nek was participating! I was a big fan of his in the 90s and early 00s … I must say he aged well đ just saying.
I’m also liking Dear Jack, but I’m not sure of how well a song like theirs would fare in ESC…
