Ukraine is calling and the Vidbir 2024 final is upon us. Eleven acts are competing to book their ticket to Malmö, Sweden, attempting to bring a fourth Eurovision trophy back home.
But before the curtain goes up, it’s time to reveal who our readers are rooting for. We asked who you wanted to become Vidbir 2024 champion and fly the Ukrainian flag at Eurovision 2024.

MÉLOVIN is a favourite to win Vidbir 2024
Yes, MÉLOVIN is our readers’ winner of Vidbir 2024. The seasoned artist, and Eurovision 2018 star, is back with his new song “Dreamer”, hoping to better his 17th place at the contest six years ago. Amassing a total of 1,404 votes — 34.99% of the vote — you think the “Under the Ladder” singer should have a second bite of the cherry and represent Ukraine at Eurovision once again.
Many have speculated about his intentions with the “Dreamer” lyrics. MÉLOVIN has explained that it’s a universal story of daring to dream, inspired by Ukrainian composer Volodymyr Ivasyuk — who gave his life for Ukrainian music during the Soviet occupation.

It was a very tight race at the top. But in the end, the silver medal goes to Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil, who received 1,202 votes — 29.95% of the total. The duo’s hauntingly beautiful track “Teresa & Maria” is another strong favourite to go to Malmö.
In a more distant third place is YakTak with “Lalala”. He earned 579 votes, which is 14.43% of the total vote.

I was surprised by the song Melovin brought and enjoyed a lot more than his other song. Wish there would have been some sort of staging though beyond some generic lighting changes. That stage was otherwise empty.
I’m not a fan of any Vidbir song this year, but, Alyona+Jerry Heil will have a landslide win tonight, and, their song can be another top 10 for sure in Malmö. Maybe even a top 5!
Mélovin?? No way – Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil is the one to beat – even in Malmö. They are the reason Ukraine once again top the odds, and will be the winner with both the jury and the public tonight.

Can we just appreciate the quality of Vidbir this year, each song has good and unique ideas but each contributes to the common Ukrainian identity. Might be my favorite NF.
I can’t see a scenario where Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil don’t win Vidbir, they can’t fail in live.
Maybe if their staging is not good enough and that somebody brings a wow concept, maybe, but still this song is so popular in Ukraine now so I think even a not so good staging won’t impact them.

Both Melovin and AA&JH would be good options for Ukraine. If Melovin wins, this will be the first returning act for Ukraine, right?! We know He’s a performer and his song screams for an interesting staging and performance. AA&JH could look amazing on stage, but let’s see what happens later today. I believe that Melovin has more mass market appeal with Dreamer but, I don’t see how he can beat Teresa and Maria at this point.
Will Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona win Vidbir 2024, most likely, however, I’m not sold on it being a contest winner. I find it to be to decisive, out-there and artsy for it to appeal for it to be attractive to your everyday, common garden variety Eurovision viewer who only watches the Grand Final which is the vast majority of the viewing public of the contest.
