Glennis Grace represented the Netherlands at Eurovision in 2005, but failed to make it to the Grand Final with the ironically titled song “My Impossible Dream”. Since then she has maintained that she would not return to the Eurovision stage. Now she seems to have had a change of heart.

On Tuesday the 35-year old Dutch singer told SBS6 TV show Shownieuws that she no longer dismisses the idea of a comeback. Apparently the fact that Armin van Buuren has been courted to become the next Eurovision representative for the Netherlands has changed her tune. “Should Armin van Buuren ask me to perform his song, it will be a different story!” she said, adding her voice to Sharon Doorson‘s as a candidate for next year.

TROS, the national broadcaster, expressed satisfaction with potentially having, after Anouk, another high-profile name like Armin van Buuren represent the Netherlands in Denmark. But the network has not yet confirmed whether it will bypass a national selection and select the Dutch DJ internally.

Glennis has enjoyed relative success in her home country since her Eurovision participation, releasing two albums that reached number 2 in the national charts. Last year she had a go at Loreen’s “Euphoria”, covering the 2012 winning song during a televised Christmas show in Rotterdam:

What do you think? Are you open to Glennis Grace’s comeback? And could her “impossible dream” finally come true this time around?

I thought (in 2005) she was a decent singer but her song was cliched heard-it
-before…. But I’ve stumbled across some of her recent videos and I was blown away! I think she has improved a lot in the past 8 years and it would be great to see her again. She needs a strong song of course, but I would like an upbeat one (she would agree I think). Check these out:

I think that the only thing a lot of ESC fans don’t want from Glennis, is another ballad…specially one that echoes a 80s Whitney Houston. But 2005 was pretty much the era where televoters rejected anything that didn’t have beat, choreography and gimmicks unless it was a balkan ballad or Chiara for some ironic reason. I would love to see her back again … but for a singer of her nature, it has to be a huge powerful song and not any piece of saturday night club crap where nobody cares who sings for as long as there is a… Read more »

If Armin really is considering participating and represents Holland, it doesn’t matter who sings the song. 🙂

I’m still hoping that it’ll be Armin van Buuren feat. Sharon Doorsen, I really love her and her songs are so catchy! I’m not really a big fan of Glennis Grace.
