Kate Ryan does not slow down. So far this year she’s taken her euro-dance act live to the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and to Maspalomas Pride on the Canary Islands. Somewhere along the way she recorded her latest single “Not Alone”, which dropped quietly late last week. It’s classic Kate in that it only employs one motif and uses a dance riff that belongs on the Costa del Sol circa 1997. But hey—we’re not complaining! We listen to dance music to dance, not to analyze harmonies and phraseology.
That’s not to say Kate doesn’t have a story to tell. She’s in a fight with her lover boy in la maison de nos emotions. The roof is collapsing, y’all. Can they hold it up with a bit more effort?
