Sweden’s Måns Zelmerlöw, Italy’s Il Volo and Australia’s Guy Sebastian may be the bookies’ favourites to win Eurovision 2015, but when it comes to YouTube views Russia’s Polina Gagarina comes out on top. She’s racked up an impressive 3.5 million views on the official Eurovision.tv YouTube channel. Does this indicate a win for Russia? That’s hard to predict as there are several limiting factors to using YouTube views as an indicator (we outline some of these below). Last year Aram MP3 had the most views ahead of the contest, but ultimately finished fourth. Conchita Wurst was second — and she went on to win.
You can take a look at all the views of the competitors. Countries are ranked here on the basis of their video with the most views on Eurovision.tv only. This means no VEVO or uploads by other people.

Obvious Limitations
Different YouTube videos were uploaded at different times. Videos uploaded earlier have had a longer time to clock up views. Some contestants also upload their YouTube video to their personal YouTube channel, which may have more or less views than the official Eurovision.tv views.
Currently, seven countries (Russia, Albania, Azerbaijan, United Kingdom, Armenia, Estonia and Australia) have more than one million views. However, we cannot be certain how many of these views come from outside their own respective countries.
Albania is sitting in second place, with over one million less views than Polina. That’s very respectable — especially when you consider how much smaller Albania’s population is than Russia’s (2.7 million vs. 144 million).
Favourite Mans Zelmerlow sits in 28th position, but as you’ll recall his official video was yanked following a copyright warning over his stick figure. He had to start over at zero. Finland, another favourite, is not even in the top 30 in views.
Sitting in last place at the moment is Ireland’s Molly Sterling, more than two thousand views behind next to last Leonar Andrade.

It may be set up for Russia to win in order to calm down a little a situation in that part of the world.
YouTube views mean nothing. Donatan and Cleo had over 46 million views for their official video release of “My S?owianie” before last year’s ESC; yet they finished 14th.

“A Million Voices” is the best song and the best entry of all time in ESC. The advantage in televoting will be huge. If Russia does not win, it will be the biggest crime in history of the universe.
If you calculate the views of all the videos of Greece,Greece has over a million views.
This song wont do well with the juries, most likely it will be the same situation with them in 2013 where they were only ranked 10th with their peace song.
If someone wants to put in the effort, then they can calculate the number of views across all different youtube uploads to make it more accurate. But yeah, then you have to do all that extra stuff about uneven number of youtube uploads per country, the date when they were uploaded, etc.
Although the song is really cute and the message does not suit well to its specific country, Russia is sending quite a good song though. I mean, I seriously hate the hipocricy they take on this event; they think we’re all dumb, but anyway. Russia, Albania, Australia and Azerbaijan can all do Top 10 with no problems.
Still, YouTube is not the best ranking source there is, period.

I don’t think the YouTube views on the channel say if the song is going to win or not. Russia is one of the most biggest countries in the world, so yeah, of course their song is going to have many views.
Some songs are just not seen until the Semi Finals.

Why wouldn’t people want Russia to win if they deserve to (not that I’m saying they do this year)? Russia gave us the best Eurovision of all times in 2009, OF ALL TIMES (in case you couldn’t tell over the internet, that was a Kanye impersonation). Anyway, artists that are “big” outside Eurovision, ala Edurner, Il Volo, Voltaj, etc, get a lot more views on their own channel than the other one, so the “official” number of views doesn’t really mean a thing. That is not right because Spain has 1.8M in the Edurne’s youtube channel and 800k in the Eurovision’s youtube channel!
Il Volo is probably the most succesful song, BUT… most of their views are from Latin America.
And Latin America can’t vote.
I think Estonia is the most succesful song, according to the population of their country and the views on youtube.
But you only mention the views on eurovision youtube account…

The reason only this channel counts and only this one is actually presentable is because the individual channels are full of fans only and fans watch videos there time and time again. For example the Italians channel has like 1 million subscribers but the video has 10+ million views.
Well only the views on the official channel of EuroVision count here..

It would be wise to count the real views of any entry of the 40 in all channels but this is not possible to happen..

I don’t think Albania’s views come from albanians. Albanians are not really interested in Eurovision. Check our past entries, even Rona’s view has less views than Elhaida’s. We would have supported our entries with views every year.
This is not true for Russia though. Last year the twins got about 15M views if I am not wrong.

Polish song have a lot more views, because the video is also uploaded on Monika’s channel.
Songs like Amanecer have a lot more views, because the videoclip is also uploaded in the oficial vevo account and when you search “Amanecer” on youtube, the first result is the Vevo one.
And btw, things need to change in Russia, i don’t like them at all participating with all of us pretending we’re on the same pack, even australia fits europe more than them.
There’s 10+ songs that could win depending on their staging. Until we see that this is all wild guesses and partially dependent on how good a video they did.

The views mean nothing. Before, the UK were leading with the amount of views.
The views really don’t say much at all. In the case of Russia,Im pretty sure that over half the views are from Russians themselves.
Albania probably has a lot of Albanian views too (Still a pretty big number).
Azerbajian seems logical.
Armenia probably mostly has Armenian views.
UK seems logical to me.
Estonia’s video has a huge foreign view count, since most Estonians already listened to the song a lot on Stig Rästas channel (1.850 000 views).
Of course we can’t really know, this is all speculation. This is just my take on this

Albania dont have 8 milions, in 2012 they have 3,020,209 people who lives ther. And I think Albania have most fake number of views . You can clear history and coockies from computer and wath and waths same video in many times to bulid huge viewes for video.

Well i do not think that Polina can win in Vienna though.. She can finish on rather high place in the top10 possibly but i do not expect Russia to get the 2nd victory 4 its nation in the Diamond Vision.. She has great angelic voice but her song is NOT winning one truly.. In first TOP 5 only Azerbaijan wili be in TOP 5 or TOP 3 in final, Russia 80 % chance to be from 6 to 10 place in final. I dont see Albania in TOP 5 or TOP 10 in final.
