The iconic Swedish selection, Melodifestivalen 2020, heads to Malmö tomorrow for the fourth and final semi-final. Thanks to Melodifestivalklubben’s audience poll, conducted at Friday’s jury rehearsal, we now have a clue as to which acts will end up going to the final. Hanna Ferm and Victor Crone emerged as the audience’s top two favourites, suggesting we will see them heading direkt till final on Saturday night.

Melodifestivalklubben — the Swedish chapter of the OGAE fan network — polled 989 audience members at Malmö Arena during the rehearsal, asking “Who was your favourite tonight?”.

In the end, returning act Hanna Ferm secured the most votes and won the poll by quite a large margin with her song “Brave”. She received 42.3% of all votes counted, which is equal to 418.

Meanwhile, the other favourite amongst the audience was Eurovision 2019 act Victor Crone. He received 182 votes (18.4%) for “Troubled Water”. If the audience are correct, we could be seeing him heading straight to the grand final in Stockholm.

Based on these results, Frida Öhrn and Jakob Karlberg could be heading to andra chansen. There they would have to battle it out in order to secure a place in the grand final.

Öhrn picked up 120 votes (12.1%) for her song “We are one”. Karlberg secured 90 votes (9.1%) for “Om du tror at jag saknar dig”.

That means, the remaining three acts received the lowest amount of votes in the audience poll. If the results were up to the audience at the rehearsal, then they would be out of the competition.

William Stridh finished in fifth position with his song “Molnljus”. He received 71 votes (7.2%).

In sixth position was Nanne Grönvall. Her ode to James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” picked up 70 votes (7.1%)

At the bottom of the audience poll were Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron. The duo earned 38 votes (3.8%) for their song “Surface”.

Melodifestivalklubben audience poll results – Melodifestivalen 2020 semi-final 4 – Malmö

  1. Hanna Ferm – “Brave” (418 votes, 42.3%)
  2. Victor Crone – “Troubled Waters” (182 votes, 18.4%)
  3. Frida Öhrn – “We are one” (120 votes, 12.1%)
  4. Jakob Karlberg – “Om du tror at jag saknar dig” (90 votes, 9.1%)
  5. William Stridh – “Molnljus (71 votes, 7.2%)
  6. Nanne Grönvall – “Carpool Karaoke” (70 votes, 7.1%)
  7. Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron – “Surface” (38 votes, 3.8%)

With a sample size this small, there’s no way of telling if this audience poll will predict the exact results for Saturday.

The rehearsal audience is usually made up of families with children. Additionally, Hanna Ferm and Nanne Grönvall were the two fake qualifiers who got to perform their song for the second time. Sometimes this can skew the results of the poll.

While previous predictions have been accurate or at least close, their results are not gospel. Last week’s poll saw Mariette finish in fourth place. However, she ended up securing one of the top two placings on the Saturday night and went direkt till final.

Nonetheless — it’s a good measure to take into account going into the deltävling.

What do you think? Does the audience poll predict semi-final success for Hanna Ferm and Victor Crone? Tell us your thoughts below!

The same audience polls that had Felix DTF and Dotter in Andra Chansen. These things are barely even a rough guide. We’ll really straight to know when the Spotify streaming figures come out early next week.

No one ever said this is a representative score. It¨s only what this test audience consisting of mostly families thought.

And it’s in Malmö. They usually have a somewhat different taste from the public

Oh… 418 votes for Hanna Ferm. That’s way too much for an average song like that. If they end up choosing “Brave”, they will still place top 10 but because Sweden.

I still think Hanna and Victor will go to the final while Jakob and William go to the andra chansen.

It’s HER! Hanna is great. Perhaps better than her song. But I haven’t heardthe whole song yet.

In fact those 5 songs are almost better than all the MF line-up. Nothing against Sweden. Though you always get to place top 5- 10 no matter what. But it’s not your fault.

I think Hanna & Victor will be the 2 direct finalists, but Hanna’s song from what I’ve heard doesn’t sound like the winner it was hyped to be. But it’s going to be a great show tomorrow night regardless, I actually like each song to a varying degree, Surface being my favourite.
