Melissa and Ranya met while they were competing in the first edition of The Voice Kids in Italy. And now, they’re joining their voices to call for a fair world. They are the third duo to represent Italy at Junior Eurovision, and they will sing their heartfelt ballad “Un Mondo Giusto” in Nice on November 26th.

Italy in Junior Eurovision 2023: Melissa & Ranya with “Un Mondo Giusto”
Melissa Agliotone and Ranya Moufidi both took part in the first edition of The Voice Kids in Italy, and ranked on top: Melissa won and Ranya was a finalist.
The legendary Loredana Bertè was Melissa’s coach, while Ranya competed as part of team Clementino. Melissa sang Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s “Shallow” in the finale, while Ranya performed a Festivali di Sanremo favourite of recent years: Irama’s “Ovunque Sarai”.
Coming from the Marche and Lombardy regions in Italy, both became friends during the show and have kept their friendship afterwards. Among many other things, they share their love for TikTok.
What do the “Un Mondo Giusto” lyrics mean?
“Un Mondo Giusto” is all about hope for peace and justice in this world, carrying an empowering message. The song also portrays music as a shelter for sadness.
Melissa and Ranya sing about how it’s not always easy to keep up with the convoluted world in which we’re living: “There are things that I would like to understand but I can’t”.
However, they are calling for action against injustice: “I’m trying to fight instead of crying […] The world is in the hands of rule-makers, but fortunately there is a new moon shining on me”.
Music is the key to the shelter both are looking for: “There are things that hurt me but there is music, that can take my hand and lead my soul from the heart onwards”.

This one’s a little hard to pinpoint. Both of these two are solid vocalists (there’s a clip of them performing it live on Instagram) but the song doesn’t move me as much as I feel it wants to. It’s got power but juuuuuust not the right amount of it. Still, with good staging this can be a real underdog. The verses are amazing but the chorus just kinda lets it down a tad bit.
It’s still a 7/10 for me though, as the positives still greatly outshine the small few negatives
I like the song very much and I wish them good luck in France
Their voices are something! Like for Albania, you will see these girls slaying in live more than anybody else and they will be very high in the ranking at the end, I really can see that. Good luck girls, you’re very very good!
