Bringing mythical and occult vibes to the London Eurovision Party this year is Gåte from Norway! The progressive folk-rock 5-piece will be coming to Here At Outernet in central London on April 7th.
We’re sure many Eurofans will be extremely excited to see them. Ever since the first heat of Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix, fans were amazed by their entry ‘Ulveham’. They exploded onto our screens in a blaze of witchy glory, and won the contest by 6 points, beating 2019 alumni KEiiNO in the process.
Who are Gåte?
Gåte are a rock band from Trøndelag in central Norway. They often create new songs by re-arranging and retelling old Norwegian folk tales, and giving them a new life of their own. Their lead vocalist is Gunnhild Sundli, who has been with the band since she was 14 years old, back in 1999. The other members of the band are Magnus, Jon, John and Mats.
They competed in Melodi Grand Prix for the first time in 2024 with “Ulveham”. The song is in Norwegian – a first for a Norwegian Eurovision entry since 2006 when “Alvedansen” came 14th in Athens. “Ulveham” is very fantastical, with lyrics depicting a magic tale in the forests of Norway. The protaganist of the tale becomes a grey wolf, and hides to the forest…and well, drinks the blood of her brother. All in a day’s work for this character!
Gåte dominated in the televote in their selection, with 174 points, beating jury-winners KEiiNO by 28 points in that department, and 6 points overall. They were a huge fan favourite before the show; fans were thrilled at the victory. They also beat out Erica Norwich and Super Rob – a 9ft pink robot.
With the sheer power in the anthemic chorus of “Ulveham”, we can imagine it is going to sound extremely dramatic and exhilerating in London. We’re sure this will be a breath-taking moment in the show – what are you most looking forward to in their performance?
London Eurovision Party 2024
The London Eurovision Party is the biggest annual Eurovision event in the United Kingdom.
The party will see a mojrity of artists from the year of 2024, but joining them will be some Eurovision alumnis too. This year the party celebrates its 15th edition at Here at Outernet in the UK capital.
Here at Outernet is a large concert venue right in the beating heart of London. It is known for its artistic styling and modern spaces. The London Eurovision Party will provide an excellent chance for a British audience to see their favourite acts before the contest itself.

I am/was considering going to this. Almost on the verge of booking a trip to London to see ABBA Voyage on April 6th, so figured I may as well throw this in too… but it’s sold out? I have no idea how this first release/waiting list system works, or what the chances of getting to the top of the list are. Oh well, it’s my own fault for not getting organized sooner.
Oh that’s a shame, in UK this sort of thing sells out in the first hour. As an OGAE member you get priority access. I usually go to Amsterdam but taking a break this year. You could also waitlist on bona fide secondary site Twickets. If I see anything I will let you know
