Junior Eurovision 2014 winner Vincenzo Cantiello might not be attending Junior Eurovision in Italy, but he has been a true star this week in Bulgaria, as befits the winner of last year’s contest. JESC 2015 host Poli Genova has also been dazzling in her hosting turn and looks set for success during Saturday night’s live broadcast of the final.
Vincenzo says he has stayed grounded since Junior Eurovision 2014. Although he’s acknowledged that he has travelled more, he still lives at home and according to him he’s still an ordinary boy. Cantiello also revealed that although his song was about his first love, he’s not really familiar with the feeling and he doesn’t believe he’s put pressure on Italy’s Junior Eurovision 2015 contestants Chiara and Martina to do well.
Poli discussed her love of performing, the different challenges of being a host and admitted it is going to be difficult to be presenting rather than performing on the night. Genova also took some time out to discuss the Eurovision Song Contest 2011. She fondly remembers the stage and the arena despite failing to qualify. She also dropped a few big hints that she will be flying the flag for Bulgaria in Stockholm in 2016.
I’m not sure she will be representing Bulgaria next year – the official Bulgarian Eurovision Twitter account said it’s unlikely Bulgaria will be present in Stockholm next year.
