Grab a bottle of water because the heat is on! Seven more OGAE clubs — Albania, Armenia, Croatia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Slovakia and Spain — have cast their votes in the OGAE Poll 2016. Last week Russia took the early lead after the first four clubs sent in their votes. Have the new votes had an impact on the Top 3?

Russia’s Sergey Lazarev is still sitting very pretty at the top. He earned twelve points from Albania, Armenia, Denmark and Luxembourg, which brings him to 109 points.

France’s Amir remains in a very close second position, just two points behind Russia. Croatia and Spain gave Amir their top points, while Denmark, Luxembourg and Slovakia all placed France in their top three. Will this be a two-horse race to the finish — and which horse will finish first?

The boys are racing ahead, but Australia’s Dami Im is still within striking distance. The “Sound of Silence” singer remains in third position with 82 points — more than double fourth place Italy.

Today sees Hungary’s Freddie gets his first twelve points from OGAE Slovakia, while Iceland’s Greta Salome finally cracks the top 3 with a club, courtesy of OGAE Luxembourg.

Eighteen countries, including Germany, Finland and Malta, have yet to receive any points.

What is wrong with you, guys? Too much envy on Sergey here, he is a powerful singer that’s why you are all judging. Using his name so frequently psychologically means that you are asking for mercy, ha ha. GOoD LUCK, SERGEY, voted by HU. We love you!

As I read somewhere, Amir is the reflection of the last winner and that’s why it is the popular bet to win at the moment. Sooo similar. This is a common mental error that we humans have. We don’t look very ahead and make simple judgements… until we find the truth. The truth is that every single year we have a very different winner in style (song, personality…) You can’t find similitudes in consecutive winners from the past. I’m not saying France can’t win, but as soon as the first rehearsals are shown, people will start to make their own… Read more »

@Danny, Dima Bilan was very good and I still listen his songs (Never let you go and Believe”. Sergey also is amazing and I hope that he would be a winner. He has wonderful vocal, dynamic songs and chorus which it is remembered at first rehearsal:)

@Orinoco Child, in my opinion Malta is overrated. Ira can`t sing in live because chorus is so difficult.

You all hate Sergey, because there are no chances for your artists to win. The future winner – Russia has already taken them all. 🙂

I keep on saying this: We gonna have a woman as the winner this year.

Lots of talented woman that nobody should underestimate. These two in front are not great performers. One of them can’t hit high notes and can’t move properly on stage, the other one is a poor man’s Ricky Martin. Both will flop.

Bonsoir Stockholm, I can see a lot of people disapointed because their favorite country is not on the top, but this is life. There will be more disapointed than happy people because only one country will win. I can understand because I was so desapointed from 2012 about France results. For everyone, OGAE means : Organisation Générale des Amateurs de l’Eurovision. Nothing the see with gays !!! Each country has a national OGAE such as OGAE France, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, etc… And there is OGAE international which regroup all OGAEs. These are a sample representing big Eurovision Fans over Europe.… Read more »

Hey dear fans of Croatia. Where are u??? it’s your biggest fave to win.
The same always happened in 2008(Sweden) 2011(Hungary) etc. I’ll never understand what is going on..Malta and Armenia are great but still fans voting for Russia than say that we don’t want that Russia win it’s weak. So we are seeing what is happening

@YAAAAS: 7 of the last 9 winners were in the OGAE’s top 5 (they only missed Dima Bilan and Running Scared). I would say they’re pretty accurate.

The OGAE votes are a very poor indication of who is going to win ESC. I certainly don’t get concerned about it.
It will be interesting to see if it is a two horse race. I like both songs but they are not my faves.
Many of the comments here about Russia are from people who are delusional. I am not drooling over Sergey but I do enjoyed the energy contained in this catchy song. Throw in some great staging & it could win.
All the haters better book some therapy sessions in advance.

@esc 2016, last year OGAE gave top votes to Italy who ended up winning televotes (link below). Sweden came second in OGAE votes and scored second outside of juries. Not a bad prediction. http://www.ogaeinternational.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=198&Itemid=83

I didn’t like how Slovakia voted. They basically gave 8 points and 12 points to their neighbours. Even the balkans so far haven’t gave that much to their neighbours! I’m pretty sure Croatia gave Serbia 3 points and that was it. Also, as if Armenia and Malta are getting beaten by Slovenia and Ireland! OGAE results every year make me so confused.

Russia got a very dated and cheesy song. I guess the gays from OGAE are blinded (and went deaf) by Sergey’s good looks. But it’s a song contest and it’s 2016 not 1984. I hope it won’t win. But hey, they won with a barefoot Dima Bilan howling some lame ass song. So I guess everything is possible.

Swap Croatia and Australia around and I do not think they are too far off!

PhysalisFranchetti

Yeah but what they’ve not told everyone is that the jury marking scheme as of 2015 boosts the top 6 songs at the expense of all the lower placed ones. This makes the jury result more robust to the diaspora-driven voting blocks…….the televote is effectively worth less than 50%, unless you manage to appeal across the board. This is why they are suddenly happy to let the jury and televote be seperate……

Due to Ex- Sovjet Union, panslawistic solidarity and orthodox connection, Russia will get a lot of points in @ least 15 countries, also points, but less in Western Europe. Sergey will B among top 5. Nevertheless, I don´t like his voice, and the way he sings that overproduced, dated, plastic song makes me feel gettin stalked by an obsessed control freak. Good handicraft, solid work, but no soul. Malta also solid work, but 1 min after listening, I can´t recall it anymore. I would B glad, if Montenegro, Cyprus, Italy, Serbia won, also Germany, Czechia and Zoe in my top… Read more »

Oh dear! If Russia wins I will seriously lose all faith in that jury marking scheme. SL is a competant singer and I’m sure that the performance will be very good, but if he wins, we can kiss goodbye to anything different to the Swedish formula for the next five years and that’ll be really boring. I expect that the OGAE though are composed of a self-selected group, predominantly male and aged 25 to 40 i.e. unrepresentitive. I also doubt very much if they are choosing their points allocation either by using a detailed marking scheme (like the juries) or… Read more »

@bella: Sweden will not win. The song is monotonous and extremely boring, I can’t see Frans troubling the left side of the scoreboard at all.

I couldn’t listen to all of Russia’s song and I don’t get all the hype around it: I find it quite dated and a bit plastic, and I can’t relate to it.

With France, I get a real catchy, feel-good song that I could even hear on the radio here in Canada sung by a very likable singer. I have no doubt Amir will win the juries and televoters over with a solid performance
