The big Melodifestivalen reveal is a mere three days away, but the rumours keep coming. Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet is now reporting that Swedish Idol alum B Robin, 25, will join the Melfest 2016 roster and that Tommy Nilsson, 55, Patrik Isaksson, 43, and Uno Svenningsson, 56, will compete as a trio (or, more specifically, as Ravaillacz 2.0).

B Robin

Robin Bengtsson placed third in the 2008 series of Swedish Idol, and became known for his rock style. Since 2013 he’s used the stage name B Robin and has moved in a new direction with his 2014 single “Fired”. Aftonbladet report that Robin is hoping Melfest will help launch his solo career. And he can do a pretty mean Guy Sebastian cover.

Tommy Nilsson, Patrik Isaksson, and Uno Svenningsson

It’s an unexpected but attention-worthy collaboration. Tommy fronted the Swedish heavy metal band Horizont in the late 1970s before joining another metal band Easy Action. He placed fourth for Sweden at Eurovision 1989 with the song “En Dag” (One Day).

Patrick competed in Melfest in 2006 and 2008, and in Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 2012. In 2001 his album “Tillbaks på ruta 1” topped the Swedish charts.

In 2007 Uno reached the second chance round of Melodifestivalen, but lost to Sonja Alden in the first heat.

Camilla Läckberg

Best-selling Swedish crime writer Camilla Läckberg will be making her Mello debut as a songwriter. The woman dubbed “the Swedish Agatha Christie” is a major Melfest fan and has submitted songs in previous years. Last year she was rumoured to have written lyrics for Jan Johansen’s Melfest entry, but he was not part of the eventual line-up. It seems 2016 is Camilla’s lucky year, with Aftonbladet reporting that she has contributed the lyrics to Anna Book’s comeback song.

The list grows

The list of rumoured Melfest acts now tops 22 out of 28 acts, with Tommy Nilsson, Patrik Isaksson and Uno Svenningsson, and B Robin joining Smajling Swedes, Ace Wilder, Oscar Zia, Lisa Ajax, Samir & Viktor, Dinah Nah, Panetoz, Sigrid Bernson, Pidde Pannkaka, Linda Bengtzing, Eclipse, Pernilla Andersson, Isa, Frans Jeppsson-WallAlbin feat. Mattias AndréassonAfter Dark, Anna Book, SaRahaMolly Sandén and Molly Pettersson Hammar.

Johnny Edlind denies participation

Tattooed personal trainer Johnny Edlind was a contestant on the most recent Swedish series of Paradise Hotel, and it was on the show that his musical talents came out. Aftonbladet originally reported that he will sing at Melfest, but they have subsequently reported it isn’t going to happen. Sorry, guys.

If all these 21 names are true then it seems that there is a betrayer inside of SVT.
