Later this evening confetti will fall and the newest winner of the Eurovision Song Contest will lift the microphone-shaped trophy into the air. If our readers are a barometer of European attitudes, then Armenia’s Aram Mp3 will win in a landslide.

Since March 21 our readers have cast a total of 103,722 votes. The “Not Alone” singer won with a staggering 18,885 votes—or more than 18% of all those cast. His electro ballad is a reminder that while you may be physically alone, you remain spiritually and cosmically connected to those you love. The bookies have cooled on Aram since his nervous performance in the first semi-final. But during last night’s jury final he regained his composure and upped his game, so much so that the Mp3 appears to have been upgraded to an Mp4. Werrrrrk.

According to our readers, Greece’s Freaky Fortune feat. Riskykidd offer the strongest challenge. The trio—who are currently #1, #2 and #3 in our search for Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model—came second in our poll with 12,047 votes, or nearly 12% of all those cast. Their song, a hip-hop call-to-arms for disgruntled Greek youth, recently won our poll for best music video of 2014.

The bookies’ favourites also did well in our poll. The UK’s Molly came fourth with 3,210 votes, while Sweden’s Sanna Nielsen came sixth with 2,773 votes.

Greece & Armenia truly sucked this year! As did Poland. How they got into the final is a mystery! Bring back the likes of Inga & Anush, Kosa Mostra (they had a great song), and anyone else but what Poland sent to Eurovision. I’m just glad someone with actual singing ability won the contest, and that San Marino FINALLY got into the final, although she and Slovenia should’ve been higher. Just because it sounds fun doesn’t mean that it doesn’t suck!

@Maria: Get a grip .. There are more troublesome issues in the world than crying for a bunch of dudes jumping on a trampoline ..
Plus, you are sick of ballads every year? As far as I remember from 2000 up until maybe 2008 or 2009 we had like 10% ballads .. while 90% were jokes, cheesy crapy music, over the top performances for music with no taste and a lot of plastic commercial dance rubbish…. I think you should do your homework better … or stop being so juvenile and finally grow up .. ballads don’t kill, honey!

Melissa J, Austria off cource reaceived a huge applause. You didnt realise that the half gay community of Europe was in the stadium?? But on Saturday will vote people that are not engaged in eurovision so much and maybe a beard lady will look weird to them. Anyway, I think that Austria had a great performance and i wish all the best!

I’m an Armenian, if I didn’t like Aram MP3 it is not my fault, for God’s sake we are here to vote for the best song, not the best person of that country. Put the politics aside, open your eyes, choose the one you think deserves, and stop homogenic attitude.

Melissa J

I don’t think either will win, just going by the audinence in the stadium. Conchita got the most applause out of anybody. During her interview, they had to stop several times because of the audience. To me, that says she has a pretty good chance of winning. Also interesting to note: There were a lot of Hungarian flags in the arena during Semi 2…

Some people are complaining about the poll!!! It is a poll guys and depict what the majority like!!!! If you wanted something else, why you didn’t vote for it??Stop saying that the poll is wrong!!!! Accept what the majority voted…. Seriously… Do you like Sweden this year???? A mediocre ballad and a blond girl shouting…. Just this… nothing more. I really like Armenia, the song is catchy but if i had to choose a winner it would be the UK. As far as Greece is concerned, the reaction in the arena is fantastic, without a doubt people go mad with… Read more »

@SWE That’s where you’re wrong. A lot of non-Armenians like it too, just check out the comment section under the youtube video of Not Alone.
It’s not because you don’t like it that no one else does or just Armenians do.

It is quite obvious that is Armenians that is voting on their own country. You can see Armenians everywhere trashing YT videos, FB fan pages, polls, etc… but there are very few non-Armenians that actually likes their song.

My prediction is that it will be a close race between Sweden and Austria, with the Netherlands as a dark horse.

funny how you explain your wantings for Armenia to don’t win from his ‘homophobic’ saying.
it’s not true that he said, and if so than it’s nothing but he just doesnt feel comfortable near Conchita and that’s all.
This is a song contest, and not a personality contest.Learn to judge the one who is the best.

Personally i dont like Not Alone as much ,but even if it would win i dont have nothing against it.Best of luck Armenia.. 12 pts from Albania

I think that the Common Linnets / The Netherlands should win! Its time for a change! Always singers screaming out their lungs. What we want is a real song, with singers with beautiful voices and a great style being able to tell a story with their music. Imagine how great it would be having Eurovision being held in Amsterdam next year! We’re super gay friendly (and whats more gay than Eurovision?) and its time to educate countries like Russia about respect and kick those medieval perceptions about homosexuality out of their brains! Oh and we have great gaybars as well… Read more »
