On Friday morning the Dutch media were certain that Dotan was set to represent the Netherlands at Eurovision 2015. However, before the day was out Anouk, the country’s 2013 representative, set the rumour mill into overdrive once more by hinting that Trijntje Oosterhuis was the chosen one.
The “Birds” songstress was appearing on the College Tour talkshow, when she made the insinuation. In response to a question about all the media speculation, she replied
It would be very nice if they choose Trijntje. I think AVRO TROS would do good.
She then laughed, adding
F**k, I’m a bad liar.
Asked whether she would write the song, Anouk made no denial.
Social media users have pounced on Anouk’s comments. She instantly became the number one trending twitter topic in the Netherlands, with many tweeters interpreting her hints as confirmations. The official Eurovision in Concert account even tweeted this.

UPDATE:Â Dutch Media Say It’s Official. Trijntje Oosterhuis Will Represent the Netherlands At Eurovision 2015.
ANP (Dutch Press Agency) are now reporting that Trijntje will represent the Netherlands in Eurovision. And Anouk will write the song. It would seem that all we need now is an official confirmation from AvroTros, the Dutch broadcaster.

It’s official! She just confirmed it on Dutch “Radio 2” in the programme “Gouden Uren”. It’ll be a song written by Anouk.

Trijntje is such a pro…she has these amazing groovy-funk-soul vocals that can easily get everybody fired-up!
Well, the way Anouk talked was like a confirmation. Her bodylanguage added to the content made it seem so sure.
And Anouk-Trijntje will be a wonderful combination. Add the Swedish Tore Johanson and Martin Gjerstadt to that and it must be great!
Screw Trijntje, I want Dotan.
If Anouk’s writing the song the Netherlands will obviously do amazing once again. “Birds” was a masterpiece, as are all of Anouk’s songs. It’s really amazing how only a little commitment by the broadcaster can really turn a country’s placings around, especially the Netherlands who really only have one strict voting partner (Belgium).
I am not her biggest fan but I’m curious for the song. I hope that she will qualify, but I’m not so sure… All we can do is waiting!
I think this may be Hari Mata Hari all over again where one part of the media sees it as official, and it turns out that the information from the source is not 100% accurate. There’s a lot that could get lost in translation.

The official Dutch press (ANP) even confirmed the news based on a anonymous source, it’s just waiting for AVROTROS’s confirmation.
On the Dutch talkshow RTL Late Night (which comes right after The Voice of Holland, where Trijntje one of the four coaches is) they are now talking about it, and no one said it’s hinted, but they all talk about it like it’s official.
