They only confirmed their Eurovision return yesterday, but Bosnia & Herzegovina aren’t wasting any time. This evening during a special press confrence streamed live on BHRT, it was announced that Fuad Backovic Deen and Dalal Midhat-Talakic will represent the country in Stockholm. And yes, that’s the same Deen who sang the camp classic “In The Disco” back in 2004. The pair will we be joined by Ana Rucner, a well-known cellist from the region.
Deen at Eurovision 2004
The big reveal took place in a studio packed with photographers and press. It attracted some of the broadcaster’s most senior management including the director. They’re taking this serious! After some gentle teasing, they featured Hari Mata Hari’s 2006 entry twice, we finally met this year’s duo. As with Kaliopi in Macedonia, their song will be revealed during a tv special in February.
What do y’all think of Bosnia & Herzegovian’s choice? Are you happy to see Deen return? Let us know below.
Dalal and Ana together, top 10. With Deen, perhaps a first-time failure to qualify for BiH.
@Racal
Crappy?
Since 2009, Bosnia produced great songs! “Bistra voda” was just great, Vukasin’s song also. Dino Merlin’s song was sweet, and Maja Sar had an average entry but not crappy at all! Deen and Dalal don’t sound very promising – but in the recent years Bosnia have given us very great song.
Thank you Bosnia for coming back to the contest, and for blessing us with your oh so crappy songs again. This is likely to be awful, as always with Bosnia (and as always, they’ll get 12 points from Slovenia and Serbia anyway).
I hope it will be different to in the disco!!!
I have my reservations mainly because of Deens return but with Ana Rucner there I feel everything will be ok.
I love “In the disco”, but i have a feeling it’ll be something different.
Not really excited for Deen’s return, but expectant of what the three of them will do together. Hopefully it wil be something a lot better than “In The Disco”
Setting the 2004 song aside, I think this duet will be really awesome. The cello suggests they’re planning something with a bit of atmosphere about it, which would be so amazing, all the more so if they sing in Bosnian. I have high hopes for Bosnia’s return!
That was surprising, to say the least. I secretly wanted Bozo Vrecic or Dubioza Kolektiv, but R¨n^B isn’t bad either.
As long as it’s not turbo-folk I’m pleased. That genre shouldn’t go anywhere near the ESC.
There is a violinist too, so perhaps a Balkan ballad? Fingers crossed for my other native country to do well.
I hate “In The Disco” but hopefully this one will be better!
I atleast hope they will have a nice song.
