He’s one half of Amaia and Alfred, the duo that sang for Spain at Eurovision 2018. And last Saturday, Alfred García premiered a new music video at the conclusion of his 1016 Tour. The song is titled “Amar Volar al Invierno” (“Love Flying to Winter”), and is featured on the re-release of his album 1016, entitled El Círculo Rojo (The Red Circle).

This new song is an ode to Argentina. It speaks of the views and the scent of the country and feels reminiscent of “Tu Canción” in melody. The beautiful music video that accompanies it is soothing and stripped down, which adds to the poignancy of it.

Alfred García – “Amar Volar Al Invierno”

Last Saturday marked the end of Alfred’s 1016 tour, with one last show in Barcelona. However, he certainly didn’t go without leaving a mark. The Catalan singer premiered the music video for “Amar Volar al Invierno”, with fans waving lights in the crowd as it played.

Alfred made sure to finish his tour with a bang. His final performance included massive pyrotechnics, a six-piece band and a huge crowd. The Spaniard took to Instagram to thank everyone who came to the concert, and share a few awesome photos from the show.

Alfred García at Eurovision and beyond

Alfred has been working non-stop since appearing at Eurovision 2018, where he finished in twenty-third place with Amaia. The Spanish singer signed with Universal Music Spain just two days after the 2018 contest’s grand final.

He subsequently started working on 1016, and began his 1016 Is Coming Tour. Alfred also managed to fit in the time to appear at an OT-themed charity show at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Alfred eventually finished recording and released his debut solo single De La Tierra Hasta Marte”. The full 1016 album followed in December 2018 and peaked at number two on the Spanish charts.

This year, his schedule was filled to the brink with 1016 Tour shows. The tour started all the way back in February, and was full of concert dates until its recent conclusion. Now though, it’s time for Alfred to take a well-deserved rest.

What do you think of the music video for “Amar Volar al Invierno”? What direction do you think Alfred’s music career will take from now on? And will we ever see Alfred return to Eurovision stage? Sound off in the comment section!
