Eurovision 2020 All 41 Competing Acts

The Netherlands’ Duncan Laurence sang his way to victory last year in Tel Aviv and now it’s time to choose his successor. Or it was supposed to be. Of course, real-world events have overtaken us and Eurovision 2020 has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Therefore, we’ll never be able to definitively distinguish the tops from the flops.

However, the spirit of the 2020 contest remains very much alive. And there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from deciding on your own favourites.

Precisely who would have won is anyone’s guess. But who did you want to see take the glass microphone? You can listen to each of this year’s 41 acts in the playlist below. Then vote for your favourites in our poll. You can vote for as many contestants as you like, but you can only vote ONE time, so make it count.

This poll closes in May. It’s up to you, Europe. Start voting now!

I like Albania’s song and Arilena is a great singer, but at this point we all realised that there’s a unfair way of vote behind it being in the lead (12000 votes against 5000 of the second place??). So I will consider that Switzerland is on the lead! Anyway, Switzerland is my absolute favorite this year, followed by Iceland and Romania.

I may be late for the party here, but I’ve been evaluating these entries on my own. As has been the case these last for the last 3 contests (including this one now canceled), I have not heard a single song; and as always, I evaluate these songs and their videos 3 times between now and early-May. After my first evaluation (based on 10 criteria–5 for the song and 5 for the music video or national contest performance video), here are my top 10: 9.47 France 9.46 Bulgaria 9.41 Norway 9.40 Denmark 9.40 Italy 9.39 Switzerland 9.39 Netherlands 9.38 Israel… Read more »

I value the SONG before anything else. The vocals, the lyrics, the music, take priority before I consider anything else. My system works quite well in this regard.

[My top 3, by the way, upon my 3rd and final evaluation, were SUI, BUL and ISR. FRA was 4th on my scorecard. None of my top 10 from this list got dropped from my top 10 on my last evaluation.]

Why is that even a question when everyone knows the answer which is ALBANIA!

Red Direct

2020 was a remarkably weak edition with only one exception which is Albania. Only they brought an internationally acclaimed POPSTAR and hired Grammy Award-Winning Producers. Albania’s production alone costs more than all Eurovision entries altogether, including Eurovision itself. Millions were invested on “Fall From The Sky”!

Albania in first place is joke ….She is hot but we all know she would have a problem with qualification …..if she choosed albanian version – there would be a different conversation ….sorry

Do people really think albania would have such a big problem with qualifying? I mean the song sounds legit and arilena has an outstanding voice and stage presence. They have qualified with worse and they were in the weaker semi final.

Oh yes because this is about how much money does your country have. No. This is about you getting your feelings hurt when people criticise you for voting for your own country. You have wrote multiple comments about the same thing so don’t come here telling other people to move on…

It would be nice, when the person who wrote the original comment deletes it after they realized they couldn’t stand behind their words anymore, that they would also delete the replies and not leave them here.

I didn’t vote for my own country… And I’m not salty about my country not being on the top because it wasn’t that good. I’m finnish btw. And to be honest I would rather have my country be at the bottom of the poll than be voted the most by some blind patriots who thinks their country is the best at everything. Sorry not sorry. And especially this year when the contest isn’t held it would be nice to know what people REALLY think. The results of this poll might have actually reflected how the results in the actual contest… Read more »

At least Georgia and Russia do have a big fanbase around Europe. Albania doesn‘t really have an international fanbase. They‘ve only got the Albanian people and only a few around Europe.

I just want to say that I disagree with all of the opinions – claiminig that the level of the songs this year was very low and it would have been a weak contest. There is not a single song that I hate – there are songs that I like more than others. I’m starting to accept the fact that we will not find out who eventually would have been the winner of ESC 2020. I find it very hard to choose my winner . I know that the song that gave me the biggest goosebumps was the Swiss one.… Read more »

I’ve never clicked with the appeal of Lithuania. I don’t see (or hear) why people are raving about it. Maybe it’ll take a few more listens for me.

How do most of us feel about the standard this year? Particularly strong? And who (assuming everyone is coming back next year) had potential to really raise their game? Find a song that better matches their talent, or has more of a chance of a high score?

I enjoy both Belgium and UK, but think they have the ability to make a song that stand out more

I was just the same as you regarding the Lithuanian national final. I just couldn’t “get” what the song is about and why it’s so popular. Well, a few listenings later I clicked with it and “got it” and now it’s in my top 10. However, it doesn’t mean you will necessarily grow to love it as well. Music is subjective and people here tend to forget that sometimes.
