This is the last semi-final for international submissions! On Tuesday, the last 20 international submissions competed in the third semi-final of Una Voce per San Marino. Same as the previous nights, three out of 20 acts are qualified directly for the Emerging Artists Final, while another five acts need to compete again in the second chance show.
After two rounds of competition, Vina Rose, Raimondo Cataldo and Mate advanced to the Emerging Artists Final, joining the other six qualifiers from the previous two nights.
Another five acts will progress to the second chance round on Thursday. They include past San Marino national final contestant Sebastian Schmidt (Basti). The other four acts are Vanja Vatle, Snei Ap, Nada e Sissi and Martina Gaetano.
Semi-final four will take place on Wednesday. However, this special semi-final is ONLY for Sammarinese artists. Once again, the top three will advance to the Emerging Artists Final.

Semi-final three acts qualified for the Emerging Artists Final
Vina Rose – “Sweet Denial”
Vina Rose is born in Catania, Sicily. She is a charismatic contemporary singer who specialises in a variety of styles from alternative-pop, soul and soft rock.
After graduation from university she appeared on various TV shows such as MTV Unplugged and Dancing with the stars. Meanwhile, acting is another of her talents, and in 2018 she appeared in the BBC documentary Victoria & Albert – The Royal Wedding, playing the part of the Duchess of Sutherland.
In 2021, she performed at the Sanremo Rock & Trend Festival at the prestigious Ariston Theatre in Sanremo. Her dazzling performance received warm affection from the audience and placed her in the top ten.
She describes her song “Sweet Denial” as “a mid-tempo song that depicts a tale of mixed emotions, a bitter-sweet love affair”.
Raimondo Cataldo – “Feeling Broken“
Raimondo Cataldo is from Mantua, Italy. He is a soul dance musician and singer with a very rhythmic, varied, fluid and warm sound. The only place where he feels himself at peace is the stage. “Music is therapy for me”, he says.
He was one of the contestants for The Voice of Italia 2018 and he participated in Sanremo Giovani in 2019.
Mate – “DNA”
Mate (Maria Teresa Amato) is from Naples. When she was 13, she started to study opera singing. However, she turned to jazz and blues two years later. She has participated in several singing competitions such as SanremoLab, X Factor and The Voice of Italy.
She has also served as a jury member on All Together Now and toured with actor Maurizio Casagrande in the theatre.
Semi-final three acts qualified for second chance
Sebastian Schmidt – “Running”
Sebastian Schmidt, better known as Basti, is an emerging singer from Germany.
At the age of 13, he participated in the Austrian children’s talent show Kiddy Contest and reached the top ten. He also took part in the German edition of X Factor in 2011 and was highly rated by Sarah Connor and Til Brönner.
Sebastian has an indissoluble bond not only with the Eurovision Song Contest, but also San Marino. In 2018, he participated in the San Marino’s national final 1in360, reaching the final. Although he didn’t win the selection, he still took part in Eurovision 2018 as backing vocalist for Jenifer and Jessika.
In 2021, he won the show Fame Maker on ProSieben in Germany.
Vanja Vatle – “Hymn of Hope“
Vanja Vatle, also known by the stage name Vanja V, is a Norwegian pop singer from Osterøy in western Norway. She participated in the Melodi Grand Prix Junior in 2014 and reached the superfinal with the song “Du stod der og lo” (“You stood there laughting”).
She has worked with the likes of JOWST, who achieved tenth place at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with Aleksander Walmann.
In 2019, she studied at the Limpi school. Her mentors there were the producers of great artists such as Rihanna and Justin Bieber.
Snei Ap – “Viaggio“
Snei Ap formed in May 2011 out of a passion for rock sounds and melodic lines.
They debuted in February 2013 with their first English EP HIDDEN FLOORS, and a few months later they were chosen as the backing band for Sweden’s Crucified Barbara during their Italian tour. After that, in January 2016, they released BARBIE ROCKSTAR.
In 2020, the band’s first Italian single “Io sono un problemea” was selected for the famous Italian competition Sanremo Rock.
Nada e Sissi – “Mala Way”
Nada and Sissi are twins from Vittorio Veneto. They have been passionate about music since childhood. They believe that singing together more and more brings them together to express their emotions and feelings freely, without fear and restraint.
In 2020, they competed in the TV show X Factor.
Martina Gaetano – “Coffee”
Martina Gaetano was born in 2002 in Rimini, Italy. She has been a singer/songwriter since the age of 12, writing in Italian and English with the help of a guitar.
Her most recent achievement was appearing at the Deejay On Stage in 2020.

Right, I haven’t commented in a long time but reading some of these comments below made me want to again. There seems to be a big trend this year, and i would say more than other years, to be cynical about everything eurovision related, or compliment one thing at the detriment of another. Eurovision fans should just go with the flow and accept things as they come. Just to clear up, the songs that the emerging artists are performing in the semi-finals ARE their intended Eurovision songs? They’re locked into these?
That’s what I too don’t get
The artists that got through then performed a different song. I got confused.
I got confused on the first day too. So, artists are performing their songs, ones they intend to go to ESC with. Then, the best 8 performed again with covers, so the juries could decide who’s going directly to the finals, and who into a second chance round. I doubt that the songs will be changed for the finals, but honestly, I’m not 100% sure.
all the semifinalists sing their unreleased songs, the 8 who pass to the second step sing a second song, some had a second unreleased song, while others a cover because they did not have a new unreleased song.
so many contestants from X Factor and The Voice.. wow these kids do not give up on talent shows..
anyway the show is very amateurish and low quality in terms of production. I hope they level it up for the final…
