My favourite 2nd rehearsals of the big 5 has to be the UK.
he got the staging ,the charisma and the vocals to prove the people who downplayed the song wrong?

To be honest, I used to find the French act circus-like and Tanxugueiras wannabe (yes I know the song was composed before the Spanish selection, but the staging was obviously a copy) , but they have sold it to me! It is my favourite of the big 5! Go France!

Do you think so? I know it’s not their fault, but I cannot help to compare them with Tanxugueiras and I still think that the latter have 100 times more charisma and strenght, apart from better voices.

Tanxugueiras were just shouting the same stuff over and over again, you’re lucky those jurors picked something else after all, Terra would have been completely overshadowed and outclassed by Fulenn in Torino…

Well they clearly didn’t have enough Charisma or strength to defeat Chanel and represent Spain. The people of Spain chose the correct song and its really paying off. Tanxugueiras would have been ‘Tanked-ugueiras’ in the finals.

How is Spain ‘de ja vu’ and how is the UK ‘try hard’? Both countries are always at the bottom of the scoreboard pretty much year after year. The one year where they work so hard and bring their best efforts you decide to call them try hard??? Sorry your own country has let you down, but try not to be bitter. Just be happy for Spain or the UK for actually trying this year and for getting some great feedback.

I am Spanish and my favourite one is the UK. Obviously I am so happy that both Chanel and Sam did so well at the rehearsals.

But, people here thinking that Italy will flop? There is no way that may happen. Even if they did a bad rehearsal, believe me, when the right time arrives, they’ll give a perfect performance.

Spain was the most slick, i love the camera angles i think they really sell the performance. UK and France are also incredible i love their stagings. Got to hand it to Germany, his voice is strong and it’s not too bad on stage, but i’m still not a fan. Italy just need a bit more time, you can hear their voices are tired and i’m sure they’ll give better performances come the final.

I like France … a lot. But the staging? It feels messy with unreleased potential. Love the Italian entry …. but those vocals … no. hence my vote goes to the UK! It has always been in the running for me and with a live vocal like that and a stunning staging there is no doubt in my mind. Spain superior to everything else when it comes to choreography … but the song … no, no, no. Germany decent and likeable … obviously very talented guy … I wish him good luck!

I have ‘sinned’ and i have watched the last minute of Chanel’s performance and O M G. I am not biased because it is my own country because I tend to be very critical, specially with my own country but the performance is truly amazing. The last minute is like a marathon in 1 minute.
I cannot understand those saying this is not ‘jury material’ if professional music related people cannot value what Chanel does (not only dancing but singing while she does what she does) i dont know who could.

But in 2002 there were not any pre-recorded vocals to help. Crazy how people have already forgotten this point after just 2 years.
So I’m not impressed by these dance tracks full of if not entirely (romania ?) covered by pre-recorded vocals.

If someone needed a reminder that this years’ Big 5 was flying over the competition, then these rehearsals would the ideal illustrations. Each one of their staging has its own concept and no one looks like another. All of this sounds credible, unique and completed packages strongly identified with cultural elements from the country they are representing. This is such a contrast compared to last year and for the first time in while, the situation where we always have three automatic qualifiers in the bottom 5 might be reversed into a top 5 finish for a majority them ! I’m from the UK and the French song is my favourite, and it has been since I first heard it. Sam Ryder did take over the number one spot for me and is still up there for me, but he’s from my country and I can’t vote for him so France get my vote. The song is great, full of energy and unique to the contest this year.
I actually didn’t care for Barbara Pravi’s song last year and it was towards the bottom of my list but this year France are my favourite.

Good luck and Bon chance!

No. Spain is a full package. Adrenalina was a hot mess.
The only fault I have with Spain is that the national selection staging worked better than the esc rehearsal footage.

¿Parcial?

So. You didn’t vote for what they were asking. Ok. And I wouldn’t say France is taking a risk. They are clearly trying to ride the wave of Go_a from last year. They are clearly hoping to chase a trend there. That’s risk aversion at its finest.

Maybe, just maybe, you could put some other Big 5 representers photo for this thread but.. your choice ofc.

Well my thoughts are:

UK and France were impresive.
Spain screams as top 3.
Germany.. as always.
Italy was shockingly bad, vocals were dreadful.
